Joel Moreau got all his chips in preflop. Unfortunately, he ran straight into Jean Francois Raymond’s pocket aces.

Jean Francois: Ace of Clubs Ace of Diamonds

Joel Moreau: 10 of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds

The flop came down 7 of Spades 2 of Clubs 3 of Spades 9 of Diamonds 6 of Spades, and just like that, Joel headed home after a day at the tables. However, he picked up $290 for his efforts in addition to the six $25 bounties he had collected over the course of the day.

Although I’m sure he would have rather finished with the first place prize of $2,716, $440 ain’t bad for a day’s work. Congrats on a tournament well-played.

Dave Jeanneau-Cyr knocked out Brian Garbacz to reduce the field to a final table of 10. Low stack Brian went all in with Ace of Diamonds 7 of Spades and Dave Jeanneau-Cyr raised to 75,000 with 2 of Spades 2 of Diamonds. Everyone else at the table folded.

When the community cards were dealt, the flop came down 10 of Hearts 6 of Diamonds 3 of Clubs. When the turn was revealed, the :1C gave Brian a moment’s hope. But on the river, the dealer flipped a 2 of Clubs and all hope for Brian was lost.

Here is the line-up for the final table. Between when play resumed and the break, Kevin Lavoie was eliminated in 10th place. Play will resume with 9 players after a short break.

At the start of level 16 at the 8-year Anniversary $100 +$10 + $25 Andrew Richard Westwater knocked out Dave Dupont-Rivard rendering the field down to 16 players.

Dave went all in, preflop, with 7 of Clubs 7 of Diamonds. Andrew called with Queen of Diamonds Queen of Clubs. The community cards were dealt 9 of Spades 4 of Clubs 6 of Spades 4 of Diamonds 2 of Spades and Andrew’s two pair with queens on top bettered Dave’s two pair featuring 7s.

The 16 players remaining in the field are all guaranteed a share of the prize pool. Sixteenth spot is worth $170 and the champ will rake in $2,716. Players have also been earning $25 knock-out chips for every player they have eliminated.

Congrats to all of the remaining 16 players.

Players have just returned to their tables following the break that occurred after level 12 at the 8-Year Anniversary $100 +$10 + $25 Bounty Re-entry. During the pause in the action we counted the chips and determined that Robert Sibbald is the chip leader. His stack of 290,000 chips is about 90,000 chips higher than the next closest competitor.

Mario Page grabbed two bounties and a huge pot at table 32 at the end of level 14.

Preflop, Pierre Marquette, Jeremie Raymond, Mario, and Dave Jeanneau-Cyr all limped in with bets of 1,200 before Samuel Charpentier raised to 4,700. Pierre, Jeremie, Dave, and Mario all called.

When the flop was dealt 2 of Diamonds 8 of Hearts 10 of Clubs, Samuel went all in. Pierre and Dave folded, but both Jeremie and Mario called.

When the players revealed their cards, Samuel was holding Ace of Hearts 10 of Spades. Jeremie revealed a 10 of Diamonds 8 of Clubs. But Mario’s two pair 8 of Spades 10 of Hearts put him in the driver’s seat.

When the dealer turned the remainder of the community cards, a 7 of Diamonds on the turn, and a Jack of Spades on the river, both Jeremie and Samuel stood up, and surrendered their $25 dollar bounty chip to Mario.

Level 8 of the 8-Year Anniversary $100 +$10 +$25 Bounty Re-Entry is coming to an end. We’re getting down to the nitty-gritty as late registration closed at the beginning of level 7. Currently, 56 of the initial 91 players who entered the fray are still embroiled in the action. Payouts for today’s tournament range from $170.00 for 16th place to $2,716.00 for the top prize. That does not include the bonus money players can win for knocking out an opponent.

Here are a few pics of some of the players who still remain in the hunt.

Berthelette pushes Golden off the hand

    2018/12/13 - 14:33 by Playground Poker

During level 6 action, Sylvain Berthelette pushed the pace to win a pot. Joseph Sabbah,  Verne Golden, Adam Hussen, Derek Thibault and Sylvain all limped in, preflop, with bets of 600. But when the first three community cards came down, 9 of Diamonds Ace of Spades Queen of Spades, Sylvain wagered 1000. Adam, Derek and Joseph all mucked, but Verne immediately called.

The dealer flipped the turn 3 of Diamonds and Sylvain pushed harder with a bet of 3,300. Verne pondered for a moment before he called.  When the river was revealed 5 of Spades, Sylvain wagered 8,000. Verne hemmed and hawed as he counted his chips. In the end, he shook his head, and returned his cards to the dealer.

Sylvain nodded, and letting Verne know he made the right decision, he showed his Jack of Spades 3 of Spades, revealing his flush to the table.

Action at table 24 started to heat up during level 4. Daniel Piperni limped in, from an early position, wagering 300. Lee Bechard immediately raised 1,100. Joel Moreau, sitting to Lee’s left called and Michael Mickelson called before Daniel folded.

The flop came down King of Hearts 9 of Spades King of Diamonds, and the three players remaining in the hand all checked. When the dealer revealed the turn Queen of Hearts, Lee wagered 1,500. Joel called and Michael threw his cards into the muck.

On the river, the dealer flipped a 7 of Diamonds, and Lee bet 2,000. Joel immediately called. Lee was holding a pair, Queen of Diamonds Queen of Spades. Joel couldn’t beat Lee’s three of a kind and returned his cards, face-down, to the dealer.
