The 1pm flight – moved to 1:15pm today – is Day 1g in the $100,000 Extravaganza, the 7th of 10 starting flights in this fantastic event. Play has just begun in level 1 and there are 111 entries so far. Late registration will be open until 2:45, and late arrivals start with a full stack.

It’s looking more and more likely that there will be an overlay in the event – and perhaps a relatively significant overlay – so if you were on the fence about coming to Playground Poker Club this afternoon, this is the value-plus tournament that should tilt the scales – there’s a lot of value in this one!

Good luck to everyone!

Schedule note

A scheduling note for all players interested in today’s Day 1g flight in the Extravaganza – scheduled for 1:00pm today. Due to challenging road conditions, we have pushed the starting time for this flight back by 15 minutes. It will now begin at 1:15pm and late registration will end at 2:45.

This 6th starting flight in the Anniversary Extravaganza is almost through the late registration period and there are just 38 entries so far. There’s still a little time for late registration – nevertheless the number of entries is not going to grow substantially for this flight.

Here are a few photos of the early runners.

5 down, 5 to go

2016/12/18 - 10:17 by

The first 5 of the ten starting flights in the 6th Anniversary Extravaganza have come to a close after 17.5 hours of poker, and the end of the day marks the half-way point of starting flights in this $100,000 GTD tournament.

So far there have been 448 entries across the first 5 flights, and 46 players have qualified for Day 2 so far. Today’s agenda is almost identical to yesterday – 5 starting flights in the tournament, and following each, the top 10% of the field will bag up their chips to return on Day 2.

The overall results of all of the players that have qualified so far are available in our Combined Results table. We will be adding to the same table throughout the day as new results are submitted. The chip leader so far is Chuhang Zhou, whose 386K stack is easily in the lead so far.

Day 1f is starting now and late registration is open until 11:40am.

Good luck to everyone playing today!

10 more qualifiers from Day 1c

2016/12/17 - 23:53 by

The third starting flight to run today – Day 1c – has come to a close with 10 players finishing with stacks to take forward to Day 2 on Monday. After a bubble period that lasted over 20 minutes, Andy D’Alessandro – also known simply as “Coach” – was eliminated in 11th place and the remaining 10 bagged up their chips.

The chip leader from Day 1c was Alberto Scudari with 206,000. His results and the results of all 10 players have been added to the Combined Results table.

Congratulations to the 10 players who have qualified for Day 2!

The fifth of the ten total starting flights in the $100,000 Guaranteed 6th Anniversary Extravaganza has begun, and early in level 2 there are 40 entries so far. Players can register until the end of the break after level 5 in this turbo-format flight – in other words, players have until 11:30pm to jump in the action.

Overall registration in the event so far has reached 428 events (with a few more to come in this flight), which is somewhat under half of the number of entries required to reach the guarantee. This leads to the potential for an overlay in the prize pool. The second day of starting flights in an event such as this naturally tends to attract more entries, so any overlay is likely to be relatively small – but for poker players, value is value!

Good luck to everyone playing tonight!
