Bart Sieminski was the shortest stack at the break just moments ago, holding around 4 big blinds. On the second hand back from the break, he took advantage of an unopened pot to try and spin up his short stack, and was met with a call from Richard Sysko in the big blind.

Bart: King of Spades 2 of Clubs
Richard: Ace of Diamonds 4 of Diamonds

Bart caught too little too late on the Queen of Hearts Ace of Spades 3 of Diamonds 8 of Hearts King of Hearts board, sending him out in 7th place.

7th place: Bart Sieminski – $3,000.00

The eliminations are still few and far apart here on the final table of the Extravaganza, and as a result the average stack is getting shallower and shallower. With the next blind level set at 60K/120K/a20K and the average stack at 2.1M, players will now have increasingly less room to work with until some eliminations occur. This is largely due to the passive play seen in the last few levels, but also to the fact that when at risk, the short stacks have been finding ways to survive and stay in the game.

With a short break underway, we took this time to update the chip counts, found in the table below:

Gary Saldivia-Odar has been nursing a short stack for the better part of the night, and has managed to see a couple of pay-jumps come his way by mucking his cards time and time again.

With the continuous pressure of the blinds, he decided to pull the trigger with his last 250K holding a small suited connector, after a utg open from Yan Gohier.

Yan: Ace of Clubs Jack of Spades
Gary: 6 of Clubs 7 of Clubs

Both players picked up a pair on the flop, however the turn sealed the deal for Yan as the board read King of Diamonds 6 of Spades Ace of Spades Ace of Diamonds 9 of Hearts.

8th place: Gary Saldivia-Odar – $2,000.00

After nearly 3 levels without an elimination, Olivier Brossard just played in a hand leading to his exit from the Extravaganza.

He opened to 175K from the hijack position, finding a call only from Anthony-Paul Belle-Isle in the big blind. Anthony-Paul check-called a bet of 200K on the 4 of Clubs 7 of Diamonds King of Hearts flop, then lead out for 425K when the turn brought the 10 of Clubs. Olivier moved all-in over the top for 890K total, and found a call.

Anthony-Paul: King of Clubs Jack of Hearts
Olivier: King of Diamonds Queen of Clubs

Olivier was one card away from a big double-up, until the river brought the Jack of Hearts – the one card he did not want to see. His deep run in this Extravaganza event ended in 9th place.

9th place: Olivier Brossard – $1,500.00

Early action on this final table of the Extravaganza has been more on the passive side, leading to only one elimination thus far. A few short stacks found themselves all-in and at risk, however Lady Luck has decided to keep them in action, with the exception of 10th place finisher Tommy Inthouray.

With the players on a short break leading to level 28, we took this time to bring an update on the current chip counts, found below. Yan Gohier is the biggest stack in the room with a little over 3 million, while Gary Saldivia-Odar is the lowest with under 8 big blinds.

Moments after finding back-to-back double ups, Tommy saw his average stack drop down to zero in almost back-to-back hands.

On the first hand, he opened from late position to 125K, and called the 685K all-in of Anthony-Paul Belle-Isle who was in the blinds. Tommy tabled Ace of Spades 7 of Clubs, but couldn’t find a way to beat his opponents Ace of Clubs 10 of Hearts.

On the second hand, he pushed all-in over the open of Brian Massender, who made the call.

Tommy: Ace of Spades 9 of Spades
Brian: 10 of Hearts 10 of Diamonds

Tommy flopped a world of opportunities, but inevitably fell short as the board read 3 of Spades 6 of Spades 7 of Clubs 9 of Hearts 5 of Hearts. He was eliminated in the hand, collecting $1,150 for his 10th place finish.

10th place: Tommy Inthouray – $1,150.00
