There are 14 players left in the 6th Anniversary Extravaganza event, and the final stage of the tournament – Day 3 – is set to get underway in just over 20 minutes.

This is the final “big event” at Playground Poker Club in 2016, and it’s fitting that among the final group today are a few players who have had a lot of success here this year. Karam Saleh, William Blais, and Tina S have all won events here in the past calendar year. In fact, even if Tina were to take first place tonight, it would not be her largest “score” of the year on the felts!

Olivier Brossard is the chip leader, but he starts less than 100K up on Karam Saleh, and then the next player in the list, Brian Massender, is almost a million chips behind. There are two more players starting tonight with more than a million chips – Jean Rheaume and William Blais.

All of those players with big stacks will have to be careful, however, as 4 of the top 5 players by stack size are on the same table, while the other table has only a single large leader and a whole bunch of players in the middle of the pack.

It’s a recipe for fireworks! We’ll see how it plays out very, very soon…

The Extravaganza has reached the final level of play for Day 2, and the field is down to just 19 players. Once the clock runs out in this round, the remaining players will bag and tag their chips onto Day 3.

Karam Saleh has regained the lead after a strong last level, and he now holds over 2.5 million. Olivier Brossard has maintained an above 2-million chip stack as he sits in second place.

Once Day 2 is over we will publish the full list of chip counts going into tomorrows finale.

Said Michailidis opened to 32K from early position, and was put to a decision when Tina 3-bet to 100K from the big blind. He opted for the 4-bet all-in, and knew he was in trouble when he was met with a snap-call.

Said tabled Queen of Spades Queen of Hearts and needed help to overcome Tina’s Ace of Hearts Ace of Diamonds, but the community cards brought no change to the hand and he was forced to pay out 492K to his table-opponent. With that hand, Tina’s stack is now in the 7-figures, while Said is left with only a handful of big blinds.
