Play in today’s Mega Overlay is set to continue until the final 57 players remain, so with just 118 left, the mid point of the action tonight is approaching quickly.

Tonight’s Mega Overlay is proving to be a huge success, as 252 entries joined the fun, adding up to a total prize pool of 32 seats + $40 in cash – PLUS, of course, the 25 Overlay seats. That means that 57 players will leave Playground tonight with seats in tomorrow’s $500 + $50 Phase 1 of the partypoker Million in their pocket.

With play in level 4, the late registration period tonight has almost concluded but there are over 200 entries so far in the tournament tonight – 210 to be precise – which adds up to a grand total of 50 seats to be awarded at the end of the evening. Each of those 50 – or more, depending on last minute registrations – players will return tomorrow at 12:00pm to play in Phase 1 of the partypoker Million tournament.

Phase 1 is a $500 + $50 NL Hold’em event that will serve as a sort of Day 0.5 of the partypoker Million Day 1 in May. Day 0.5 in that it’s only $550 to buy in to Phase 1, whereas the buy-in for the Million will be $5,000 + $300. But it’s not a traditional low-cost satellite – players in Phase 1 who make it to the final 10% tomorrow will take their finishing stack with them to the big Tournament – a great opportunity to start that event with a big advantage.

Tonight marks the return of a very special format to Playground Poker Club – the Mega Overlay!

What does this mean? Well, in poker, an “Overlay” means that there is an amount added to the prize pool beyond what is contributed by the players in a tournament. “Mega” just means BIG (in this context) – so it’s pretty simple – tonight’s event has had a large amount added to the prize pool beyond what the players have added!

To be precise – there are 25 seats added to tonight’s Mega Overlay satellite. That means that when late registration closes and the number of buy-ins will add up to X number of seats – we’ll award X+25 seats!

Play has been underway for one level and already there has been a huge uptake in tonight’s event – there are currently 160 entries, adding up to 44 seats to be awarded (so far).
