The players in the Win the Button event have just returned from their first break of the day and play has resumed in level 5 of the tournament. From here on out it will be a freezeout event, as late registration and re-entry have both closed.

In total, the event attracted 60 entries plus 14 re-entries, meaning that the final prize pool is just over $4,300 – a good figure for a small buy-in weekday afternoon tourney! We’ll have exact prize pool and payout figures to publish in just a few minutes.

Players should know that for afternoon tournaments at Playground Poker Club, late registration is not only common but can make up over 50% of the final field in an event. Today’s Win the Button Re-entry, for instance, is now in level 2 but another 17 players have already joined during the past 20 minutes, and more are buying in at the cashier all the time. You have until 1:30pm to join, so don’t be shy – better late than never!

The first event of the Playground Anniversary Series has begun and so far 26 players are at the tables for today’s $60 + $10 Win the Button Re-entry tournament. This tourney will kick off 6 days of events, including $220 and $550 Deepstack events and the insane 5-Year Extravaganza and it’s 10 – yes, 10 – Day 1 starting flights!

The Win the Button event is a pretty big change from a regular HL Hold’em event, in that if you win a hand, you play from the dealer button on the following hand! Players who like to play lots of hands – and do so successfully – will enjoy position in many more hands than usual, an important advantage! At the same time, a player who tries to win too many pots will not gain position and could lose a lot of chips in the effort!

This is a re-entry event and players are permitted to enter or re-enter the event any time until the end of the first break, after level 4. On the clock, that means that players have until 1:30pm to join the tournament.
