Fitzpatrick takes it!

Event 13 has come to a conclusion with Mark Fitzpatrick beating out a field of over 200 players to win the $8,158 cash prize and the final championship bracelet to be awarded in the 2013 Playground Poker Fall Classic!

Also among the players to cash in the event was Vince Dwyer in 9th place ($800). His final table finish was just enough to both vault him into first place AND keep him ahead of Mark in the race for the MVP Belt!

Final Table of the Bounty

Our $185 + $15 + $100 Bounty event is down to it’s final table of ten players:

In the Money Update

  • Level: 20
  • Small Blind: 5K
  • Big Blind: 10K
  • Ante: 1K
  • Chip Average: 240K
  • Remaining: 17
  • Entries: 204

  • Event 13 – $300 + $30 No Limit Hold’em Bounty- is well into the money now, with the field down to 17 players out of the original 204 that started. Two players are well ahead of the field, as David Hamel is sitting on just over 900K, and Mark Fitzpatrick on almost 600K. Everyone else is below the 330K mark.

There are also still two players fighting for that Fall Classic MVP Belt: Mark Fitzpatrick and Vince Dwayne. Chances are slim for Mark, as he would need to finish in 1st place AND make sure Vince doesn’t make the final table. But if Vince manages to make it to the final table of 9, the title will be his. He is currently holding 85K. Should Vince fail to make the final table, and should Mark not place 1st, it will be Garry Lucci who will be the Fall Classic MVP Champion.

    Event 13 – Update

  • Level: 16
  • Small Blind: 2K
  • Big Blind: 4K
  • Ante: 500
  • Chip Average: 116.6K
  • Remaining: 35
  • Entries: 204

  • The last event of the Fall Classic is now in level 16, and 35 players still remain from the 204 that entered. Our current chip leaders are:

    1. David Hamel – 425K
    2. Erica Freeman – 250K
    3. Marie G – 220K

Interestingly enough, there are still 4 players remaining in the tournament who are in the running for the Fall Classic MVP title, and it is looking like this will be the event that determines our champion!

These are the four players with their stack sizes:

    • Michael Korovine – 85K
    • Mark Fitzpatrick – 110K
    • Vince Dwyer – 150K
    • Martin Giguere – 35K

    Event 13 Update

  • Level: 13
  • Small Blind: 1K
  • Big Blind: 2K
  • Ante: 300
  • Chip Average: 86.8K
  • Remaining: 47
  • Entries: 204

  • Event 13 – the final event in the 2013 Fall Classic – is now in level 13 and there are just 47 players remaining of the 204 that started today.

Much of the attention is on the MVP Belt situation – and there are still 4 players in the tournament today with a chance to gain enough points to surpass the current #1, Gary Lucci. For two of them it’s an outside shot at best – Martin Giguere has to place 2nd (or better) to move into first place – and even then he needs help. For Mark Fitzpatrick it’s an even steeper hill – he has to come in first in the event to pass the leaders. And both of them have to hope that they aren’t sharing the final table with the two players who have a more realistic shot at the MVP Belt.

For both Michael Korovine and Vince Dwyer, a 9th place finish or better (and in Vince’s case, Michael has to be eliminated prior) wins them the belt.

Approximate chip counts for the four who still have a shot:

    • Vince Dwyer – 105K
    • Michael Korovine – 50K
    • Martin Giguere – 35K
    • Mark Fitzpatrick – 100K

The Final Event of the Fall Classic

  • Level: 7
  • Small Blind: 250
  • Big Blind: 500
  • Ante: 75
  • Chip Average: 32.6K
  • Remaining: 125
  • Entries: 204

  • The Playground Poker Fall Classic is coming to an end today with the final event, Event 13 – $185 + $15 + $100 No Limit Hold’em Bounty, where players collect a 100$ bounty every time they knock a player out. 204 players have shown up to this event, which is always very popular amongst the players.

It is the last event that awards points for the Fall Classic MVP, and it is very likely that it will be the event that determines our winner! Some of the players still in the running are here grinding today, such as Marko (currently 3rd), Alain Jobin (4th), Luigi Fantigrossi (5th), Michael Korovine (9th), and Benoit Pesant (13th). A deep run by any of these players might result in our Fall Classic MVP champion! In fact, with 72 MVP points being awarded to the champion of Event 13, anyone in the top 50 could spring up to 1st place with a win in this event, considering they are not passed by someone above them in the rankings who also does well in today’s event. A final table appearance guarantees at least 36 points. We’ll keep you posted on how the MVP race develops.
