After a few minutes of negotiations, the remaining three players have come to an agreement. Although the stack sizes are not exactly even, with Jean-Hugo holding roughly 12 million, Anesti 10 million and Jeremy 8 million, they three have agreed to take an even amount of money. They will pocket $22,000 each, and leave $10,557 for the eventual winner, who will also take home the stunning Playground Poker Fall Classic Event 1 Champion’s Trophy.

    Congratulations!

    Anesti Kocini
    Jean-Hugo Robitaille
    Jeremy Normandin

    Event: Event 1 - The Wild $150 ($135 + $15 NL Hold'em Re-entry)

    4th place: John Olivier Pombert

    4th place: John Olivier Pombert

Anesti Kocini applied maximum pressure on his short stack opponent by moving in on him from the small blind. John Olivier Pombert found an ace in the big blind and made the call with his ~11 big blind stack.

Anesti: 9 of Clubs 5 of Clubs
John: Ace of Hearts 3 of Diamonds

Anesti picked up just enough on the Queen of Diamonds 2 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds 7 of Clubs 7 of Hearts board to eliminate John in 4th place, and bring us down to 3 players.

The players have decided to pause the clock to negotiate a potential deal.

    4th place: John Olivier Pombert – $13,200

    5th place: Alexandre Chapdelaine

    5th place: Alexandre Chapdelaine

Most of the chips on this final table are in the hands of Jean-Hugo Robitaille and Anesti Kocini, which in turn created some very short stacks who seemed to be competing against each other in an attempt to ladder up the pay jumps. We’ve seen a few of them hit the rail already, which has opened up the action in recent orbits.

The latest casualty was Alexandre Chapdelaine, who fell down to just 3 big blinds before finally moving in his chips from middle position. He found a call from Jeremy Normandin in the big blind, and they were in a coin-flip situation, with Alexandre holding King of Spades Jack of Clubs and Jeremy holding 6 of Diamonds 6 of Clubs.

This change very fast however, as Jeremy flopped a full house on the 6 of Spades 7 of Clubs 7 of Spades 3 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds board to bring us down to 4-handed poker.

    5th place: Alexandre Chapdelaine – $9,500

  • Small Blind: 125K
  • Big Blind: 250K
  • Ante: 25K

  • 2015/11/06 - 0:52 by Playground Poker

    6th place: Said Michailidis

We caught up to the action on a flop showing 9 of Clubs 3 of Diamonds 4 of Clubs, where Said Michailidis and his 9 of Spades 10 of Spades were all-in and ahead of opponent Jean-Hugo Robitaille, who held the flush draw with King of Clubs 2 of Clubs.

The turn brought the King of Diamonds, putting Jean-Hugo in the lead, and Said couldn’t improve on the 8 of Hearts river to get eliminated in 6th place.

We are now 5-handed, and Jean-Hugo holds a little over 50% of the chips in play.

    6th place: Said Michailidis – $6,700

    7th place: Stephane Houle

Stephane Houle saw his stack dwindle down to just shy of a million before he moved all-in from early position. Action folded around to Anesti Kocini in the big blind, who called the extra 3 big blinds to try and knock out a player.

Stephane: Queen of Hearts 7 of Hearts

Anesti: Queen of Clubs Jack of Spades

Board: 5 of Spades 9 of Hearts 9 of Spades 6 of Spades 3 of Spades

  • 2015/11/06 - 0:37 by Playground Poker

    8th place: Scott Shevlock

Scott’s elimination was a two-part affair, as he lost most of his chips a few hands ago when his Ace of Diamonds Queen of Clubs finished second-best to the Ace of Spades King of Spades of Said Michailidis in an all-in preflop situation.

With only 575,000 behind, he waited two hands before the big blind swung around to him, and once 40% of his stack was automatically forced into the pot, he felt compelled to throw the rest in facing a late position raise from Jean-Hugo Robitaille.

He was in rough shape, as his 2 of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds was up against the Ace of Hearts 10 of Spades, and once the board showed an ace, he had no chance left of winning the pot.

Jean-Hugo scored his third knockout of this final table out of three eliminations, increasing his chip lead as play enters 7-handed.

    8th place: Scott Shevlock – $3,600

    9th place: Charan Malhotra

Charan Malhotra was very active in this Day 3 of The Wild $150. Being on the shorter end of the leaderboard for most of the night, he had constant pressure from the increasing blinds, and was forced to risk his tournament life numerous times in an attempt to pick up some blinds and antes.

In his last hand, he went all-in for 1,625,000 from under the gun, and found a call from Jean-Hugo in middle position. The rest of the table got out of the way, so both players opened their hands:

Charan: Ace of Clubs 9 of Spades

Jean-Hugo: Ace of Hearts Queen of Spades

Although Charan has a great flop, it was Jean-Hugo who ended up wining the pot, as counterfeit cards eliminated Charan in 9th place on a board showing 9 of Clubs Jack of Hearts 4 of Clubs Jack of Spades Ace of Diamonds.

    9th place: Charan Malhotra – $2,800

    10th place: Marcello Iacovella

Marcello Iacovella came into the day as one of the shorter stacks, but managed to grind his way through some hoops and hurdles to finally earned a spot on the elusive final table. Time and time again his chips found themselves in the middle, and every time they came back with some new founds friends.

That is until just moments ago, where he took advantage of an unopened pot to move his last 625,000 chips into the middle from the button. For 425,000 more, and last to act, Jean-Hugo Robitaille couldn’t refuse the offer from the big blind, even with a less-than-marginal hand.

Marcello: King of Spades Queen of Spades

Jean-Hugo: Jack of Hearts 5 of Clubs

Jean-Hugo picked up a pair on the Jack of Clubs Ace of Hearts 7 of Spades 2 of Diamonds 2 of Hearts board, which was enough to knock Marcello out in 10th place.

    10th place: Marcello Iacovella – $2,070

    Leroux 12th; Siamak 11th

With under 10 big blinds to his name, Stephane Leroux moved in with some paint cards (King of Hearts Queen of Clubs) in an attempt to run his short stack up, but unfortunately he ran into the Ace of Hearts Ace of Spades of Jean-Hugo Robitaille to place 12th out of a field of 1439.

Siamak was crippled a few hands ago, as he open-shoved from the button with Ace of Spades 3 of Spades, but ran into the 10 of Spades 10 of Hearts of Jean-Hugo in the blinds. He failed to improve, and saw 1,425,000 chips move to his neighbour, leaving him with only a few thousand behind. He did manage to ladder up one pay jump with the elimination of Fabian Garzon in 13th, but then fell to the hands of Anesti Kocini shortly after.

Both players picked up a $2,070 payday for their run, and with those eliminations, we now have our final table of The Wild $150!

    Garzon goes down in 13th

Fabian Garzon played a very patient game today, however with the continuous pressure of the blinds, it was time for him to pull the trigger and try to make something happen.

He found King of Spades Jack of Clubs on the button in an unopened pot, and fired his last ~1,200,000. Unfortunately for him, Stephane Houle woke up with Ace of Hearts King of Clubs in the big blind and made the call.

Fabian needed help to survive, but found none on the 6 of Spades 10 of Spades 9 of Clubs 4 of Diamonds 6 of Clubs to end his tournament in 13th place, earning $1,690.
