The 8-Max attracts 196 players
Event 11 of The Playground Poker Fall Classic is a $300 + $30 No Limit Hold’em 8-Max event which began earlier tonight. A total of 196 players turned out for this tournament, creating a prize pool of over $57,000! The tournament staff is now crunching the numbers for the payouts of this event, which we will publish shortly.

The WPT Montreal is in the money!
Hand-for-hand was announced just moments ago, and in the first hand we saw an elimination, meaning that the 81 remaining players are now guaranteed a cash prize of at least $5,860! With this important hurdle now out of the way, players can now think about their next milestone goals: qualify for Day 3, make it through to Day 4, find their way to the elusive final table, come back on Day 5 and win the event!

Aljboul, Caza finish in the lead for Day 1B
Time is up in Day 1B of the WPT Montreal, and of the 235 players that started this flight, 96 have survived to bag their chips onto Day 2.
Two players share the lead, as Abdallah Aljboul and Marco Caza both bagged 252,000, while Michael Tieu bagged 220,300, good for third place in this second flight.
The full list of player-reported chip counts is being tabulated as we speak, and we will be posting it very shortly.

Day 1B of the WPT Montreal has just reached level 10, and this will be the last level of play for the night. Once the clock is up, the remaining players will bag their chips onto Day 2.
Tomorrow will be the last chance for players to participate in this WPT Montreal, with Day 1C starting at 11am. Late registration will remain open through until the end of the first break, or roughly 6:20pm.

Michael Tieu built his stack early on in the night, and has steadily been adding to it. He has maintained the chip lead since the early levels, and still holds the biggest stack as play enters level 9.

Day 1A of the WPT Montreal is over
Time has run out here in Day 1A of the WPT Montreal, and out of the 127 runners that started the day, 45 survived through 10 levels and have bagged some chips for Day 2, scheduled at 12pm on Monday November 16th.
Brian Altman bagged the biggest stack tonight, as he accumulated a total of 221,600 chips. Other big stacks include Jacques Frenette (190,400), Jared Mahoney (181,900) and John McLeod (181,500). As soon as the counts are ready, we will publish the full list of player-reported chip counts of this Day 1A.
