Denis Quirion couldn’t find any luck when he needed it and was eliminated in 14th place in a slightly untypical hand.
Preflop action folded around to player on the button, John Olivier Pombert, who open shoved, clearly noticing that Denis – in the big blind – was relatively short stacked. Action folded to Denis who reluctantly called and tabled , a hand which figured to be dominated most of the time in that spot.
But not this time. John Olivier turned over – it had been a pretty speculative steal attempt against a player who didn’t have enough chips to lay down any better hand then Jack Queen…
None of that mattered, though, as the community cards ran out and the bigger stack prevailed.
14th place, Denis Quirion, $1,690.00
