Another day of poker has come and gone here at Canada’s premier poker destination, and we now have our line-up ready for the last chapter of this opening event of the Playground Poker Fall Classic.
The Wild $150, which has become the traditional kickoff event for our series here at Playground, attracted a total of 1,439 entries through four starting flights. 339 made it through to Day 2, of which 135 secured a cash prize, however only 31 remain and will return for Day 3 and the conclusion of Event 1.
Play restarts at 7pm sharp tomorrow, Thursday November 5th, and we won’t stop until an Event 1 Champion has been crowned! Tuned in here to our blog to follow live updates, view photos, and rail the remaining players as they duke it out on the felts, all trying to earn that sweet $34,000 first place prize.
Anesti Kocini is the current chip leader, as he bagged 2,560,000 at the end of the night. He stayed under the radar for the first part of Day 2, but then exploded near the end of the night to take over the lead, knocking out former chip leader Mathieu Boulanger-Vaugeois in the process, and then rivering Charles-Eric Benoit for a 1,500,000 pot in the last hands of the night. He now holds more than an 800,000 chip lead on his opponents going into Day 3.
However with the average stack at almost 20 big blinds, there is still a lot of poker to be played before anything is set in stone…
See you tomorrow!
