The $250 Frenzy, which is Event 3 of the Playground Poker Fall Classic, turned out to be a huge success! A total of 1,475 entries were made across 6 starting flights, creating a massive prize pool of $321,919.00, and a whopping $55,000 for the eventual winner, who will also take home a Playground Poker Fall Classic Champion’s Trophy.
With all 6 flights now completed, we saw 320 players qualify for tomorrow night’s Day 2, which is set to begin at 7pm sharp (this number includes players who have qualified on more than one entry, of which only their largest stack will be kept in play). Of this, 145 will walk out with a cash prize of at least $460, with one lucky winner going home with $55,000. Play will continue in Day 2 for 12 levels of 30-minutes, after which the remaining players will bag for Day 3, where the champion will be crowned.
Leading the field into Day 2 is Michel Naggar, who bagged 300,000 chips after 14 levels of play, however there are dozens of players not too far behind.
Once the player’s have finished bagging their chips tonight, and the tournament staff has crunched all the numbers, we will be publishing the full list of player-reported chip counts for Day 2, as well as the seating assignments.
Tune in to our Playground Poker Club blog tomorrow night to follow the action, as we bring you up-to-date coverage throughout the night, including live chip counts and tons of photos.
Good luck to the players who have qualified into Day 2!
See you tomorrow!
