Day 1c of Event 3 was the 3rd of 6 starting flights in this event, known as The $250 Frenzy. 198 players started the flight and at the end of 14 levels, 42 players remained. Here are the chip counts of the players who have qualified for Day 2 from this flight.

There are 50 players still alive in Day 1c of The $250 Frenzy, and one 30-minute level to go before players bag up their chips to return for Day 2.

Starting flights of tournaments at any buy-in level are usually fairly similar in the sense that after a significant passage of play, stack sizes tend to be relatively smoothly distributed. Between level 10 and the beginning of level 14, however, we saw two players with clearly dominant stacks (Vital Cleary and Alexander Villa) and many of the other leaders from earlier in the day slipped back to the pack. At this point, there is a clear 100K drop-off from Alexander in 2nd place and the 3rd place stack, held by Jason Conforti. It remains to be seen if the chip distribution smoothes out during this last level.

The players in Day 1c are on their first break of the day. Players interested in joining in the tournament have until the end of this break to buy their ticket from the cashier.

During the break we’ll be putting together the first leaderboard for the day, so we’ll have a few leaders identified just minutes from now.

Play has begun in today’s Day 1c starting flight of The $250 Frenzy and even though it’s very (very) early for poker players, there are already 117 people distributed around the tables as the action starts. Late registration is open until the end of the break following level 4, which is to say that players may enter the day until 1:15 this afternoon.

Today is Day 1c – the third of the six starting flights in this event in the Playground Poker Fall Classic presented by Partypoker.net. The first two starting days, held yesterday, attracted a very strong 352 combined entries, and if history is any indication, today’s two flights should both be significantly larger. For the record, 72 of those 352 have already qualified for Day 2.

Action gets underway in Day 1c in just about half an hour, with late registration open until 1:15 this afternoon so there’s plenty of time to get to the Club and jump in the action!
