Also joining the action through the past couple of levels are Freddy Deeb, Danny Suied, Jake Schwartz and local standouts Ami Alibay and François Goblet.

Update: 2015 WSOP-E Main Event Champion Kevin MacPhee has just taken his seat.

The players in Day 1b are just now returning from their first break of the day. It’s too early in this starting flight to have a real leaderboard, but we did find some larger stacks at some players’ seats and we recorded these on the Chip Counts page.

Action has now resumed in level 3. Players still have over 4 hours to late register, so the numbers will continue to grow throughout the late reg period.

Mike Sexton got the day kicked off with a bang and action has begun in Day 1b of the 2015 Partypoker.net WPT Montreal!

There are already 135 players seated in the event and late registration is open until approximately 6:15 tonight, so there’s still a ton of time for players to jump into the tournament. There are a few pros here today who didn’t manage to qualify in Day 1a, yesterday, as well as many new players that haven’t played in the event before today.

Beyond the well-known pros in the field, there are a couple of players that we’d also like to make note of in the field, including Dr. Robert Notkin, champion of the Canada Cup in 2014 and the winner of perhaps the most famous single hand in Playground Poker Club history – a four-way all-in on the final table. In addition, the WPT Canadian Spring Championship winner Sheraz Nasir has taken a seat in the event.

As was the case for every event in this year’s Playground Poker Fall Classic, we’re going to do our best to bring you “Live” chip counts for selected players in the field. Just click on the link with the black background on the upper right of this page to access the chip count page.

Good luck to all of the players today!

WPT Montreal Day 1a – final counts

    2015/11/13 - 23:13 by

Day 1a of the Partypoker.net WPT Montreal began at 11am on November 13th and played through 10 60-minute levels before play was suspended as scheduled. There were 127 total entries today and of those, 45 players still had a stack at the end of the evening and bagged up their chips to return on Day 2.

This is a next-day re-entry event, meaning that any player – qualified for Day 2 or not – may choose to play in one or both of the remaining starting flights. Of course any player who has not already qualified for Day 2 may also play one or both remaining starting days as well. In the event that a player qualifies twice (or 3 times), only their largest single-day stack will be returned to action in Day 2. Playground Poker Club will report on any such variance along with the full seating draw for Day 2.

The following are player-provided counts and although we do our utmost to verify that players are reporting their precise count, it’s the physical chips sealed in their bags which are returned to play on Day 2.

Day 1b begins on Saturday November 14th at 11am, Day 1c begins on Sunday November 15th at 11am, and Day 2 begins on Monday November 16th at 12pm.

Congratulations to everyone who has qualified for Day 2.

Altman takes over the lead with one level to go

Brain Altman has recently taken over the chip lead here in Day 1A of the WPT Montreal, as he recently stacked table-opponent Ryan Rivers to climb well over the 200,000 mark.

Level 10 has just began, and once time runs out in this level, the surviving players will bag and tag their chips onto Day 2.
