Late registration is now closed in the 8-Max, and the last of the alternates have just been seated. The turnout for this 11th Event in the Playground Poker Fall Classic was of an astounding 259 players, adding to the overwhelming success of this series.
A few players have jumped into an early lead in the first levels of play, and Alex Schwind returns from the first break with the biggest stack, holding 81,550 in chips. Jeffrey Derue and Kamal Hamai both have 73,100 and are tied for second place, while Wai Kit Ngai trails them by a few hundred chips.
