The last 4 tables had been playing hand-for-hand for about 10 minutes when Karam Saleh open raised to 36K from an early position. Soterios called the bet, and Graham Ross Thomson went all-in for 381K. Karam, who had him covered by just a bit, thought for a while, with his head in his hands. The board was quick to put Thomson out of his misery: . When asked why he took so long to make the call, Saleh explained: ”Well, he was obviously trying to pick up the pot with a range that is crushed by Jacks, so I was simply thinking: I’m calling. This is it. I’m calling in a second.”
Karam Saleh is now sitting on top of this tournament, with just over a million chips, and a lot of short stacks are about to be thrown in.
