Tonight, we go on survivor mode. Our 8th stop in the Playground Poker Fall Classic is a survivor tournament, which means that players will try and survive with the chips they have until 10% of the field is left, at which point every remaining player will receive an equal share of the prize pool.
Players will start with 20,000 in chips, and will play down to 10% of the field through 20-minute levels. Late registration will be open until about 9pm, at which point we will know exactly how many players we will be playing down to.
This format calls for a different approach, a different strategy. By experience, we can predict that conversations at the tables will be about that. Is it sound to risk your chips in this spot, given the survivor format? Should you have avoided that risk in the hopes of getting a better hand later, given the absence of higher money prizes? What is your take on the subject? Come join and show us! 104 players so far have done just that, with more to come.
