The Playground Poker Fall Classic is well underway, as we can tell by the excitement floating in the air. This is due to to Day 2 of The Wild $150, which seats 265 players tonight. 3 of those players qualified twice, so 3 bags were taken out of the tournament, 192K in chips. All the players in the room right now have their eye on the the top prizes of the pool, especially the very cool $28,000.00 towering above the rest.

Tonight, qualifiers from all 4 starting flights merge. Tonight, players with the best blend of merit and luck clash, forcing their knowledge of human reading and percentages on each other, with lady luck hitchhiking a ride.

Be ready for 12 levels of intense poker, after which la crème de la crème will bag their fortunes, to be reopened tomorrow night on Day 3.

Day 2 of The Wild $150 coming at 7 tonight

The stage is now set for Day 2 of The Wild $150, which will begin promptly at 7:00pm tonight at Playground Poker Club. The chip leader to start Day 2 is Fadi Haddad who resumes the action with 330,500 chips and is one of just 2 players with over 300K to play with upon the restart.

Interestingly, Fadi has drawn a seat on table 41, where just two seats to his left he will find Leng Khauv, the Day 1a chip leader, in addition to two other players with over 100K in their stacks. The result of this is a table whose chip average to start Day 2 will be almost 40K above the tournament average of 90,000 chips. The potential for fireworks – and for even gaudier stacks to be built – is high!

On the other end of the spectrum, the chip average on table 65 will be just 56,500 to start Day 2, and no player on that table has more than a 100K stack to start with. However there are some very talented players starting on table 65 this evening – this is perhaps an opportunity for Jason Conforti or Pierre Bergeron to accumulate the chips they’ll require to make a deep run. Only time will tell!

Play in the four Day 1 flights in Event 1 of the Playground Poker Fall Classic has concluded and after a total of 1198 entries took a shot to qualify for Day 2, 268 managed to accomplish the task. Three players managed to qualify through more than one starting flight, and these players’ smaller stacks have been removed from the tournament as per the rules of the event.

This leaves 265 unique players who will begin Day 2 of The Wild $150 when play resumes at 7:00pm tonight (November 2nd). The following table is the official seating chart for the restart this evening. Play will resume in Level 15, players will be in the money when 117 players remain, and play will continue until the end of level 26.

The very nice 100K guarantee attached to the Wild $150 was already reached after Day 1c, and Day 1d saw the biggest field of the 4 starting flights. With its 373 players, it was clearly the most popular, shattering even the Sunday afternoon flight, which attracted 315 people. Tonight’s flight brings us to the whopping total of 1198 entries! A really nice turnout, even for the famous Wild $150. Based on past Playground Poker Fall Classics, and on the great response to this opening Event, it is safe to say that we’re in for a great ride during this festival.

We will share the details of the prize pool with you as soon as they made public, so stay tuned for the monetary breakdown of the first Event, more pictures, and chip leaders.

As level 4 is starting, early busts are being replaced by alternates. This is the most crowded of our starting flights already, and we have another 20 minutes of late registration in front of us. Both sides of the tournament hall are required to respond to this huge demand, and the atmosphere is great. Conversations are about how players were taken out in their last tryout, how big the leaders’ stacks will be at Day 2, and how stupendous the prize pool will be.

Day 1d of the Wild $150 is here. Players are swarming Playground Poker Club’s tournament hall as the director announces the main details for the Event. They are trying to get to their seats in time for the first hand, and focus on the strategy they have chosen for themselves. Some of them are entering the Wild for the first time, but some are retrying, either for a first bag, or for a bigger one. In all cases, this is it… The last chance to get a ticket for tomorrow night’s dance, Day 2 of the Wild $150!

Tonight! Day 1d of The Wild $150

Tonight at 7:00pm is the final starting flight of the four Day 1s in Event 1 of the Playground Poker Fall Classic! There have already been 825 entries in the event, and every additional entry tonight will just add more to the already huge prize pool, which has already surpassed the $100,000 guarantee!

Play in tonight’s starting flight will continue through 14 levels of 30 minutes each, the same as all three flights held so far, and everyone who still has chips at the end of tonight’s action will have qualified for Day 2, scheduled for 7:00pm November 2nd. So far there are 190 qualifiers for Day 2, and tonight’s qualifiers will add up to a healthy field to start Day 2.

The chip leader so far is Pascal Monarque, who managed to accumulate 302,000 by the end of Day 1c. He is the only player so far who managed to accumulate over 300K in chips, while there are 10 others who built up stacks in excess of 200K.

Finally, don’t forget that anyone may play tonight, even someone who has already qualified for Day 2. If you qualified with a smaller stack, then you may take another shot tonight to start Day 2 with more chips (your smaller stack will be retired from play). If you’ve played already but not qualified – well in that case, this is your final chance to go for it!
