Level 5 has just begun in Day 1a of The Wild $150 and with registration now closed, there were a total of 315 entrants in this first of four starting flights in the tournament. With 4 levels in the rear-view mirror, play will now continue for 10 levels at which time the players remaining will bag up their chips for a return on Day 2.

Remember that this is a next-day re-entry event, which means that any player may play as many starting flights as they like. In the case of a player who qualifies for Day 2 more than once, only their largest stack will be taken to Day 2.

We thought it would be “relatively busy” today – but it’s just half-way through level 2 and participation in today’s Day 1a in The Wild $150 is already up to 255 entries – and with 90 minutes of late registration still available, that number is sure to climb even higher!

The published starting time for Day 1a in The Wild $150 was 11:00am, and tournaments tend to start on time here at Playground Poker – so cards are now in the air in this first of four starting flights in Event 1 of the Playground Poker Fall Classic!

The initial starting flight is usually the least busy of all, but because this year’s event starts on a Sunday, today’s 2 starting days should be relatively busy. There are already 157 players seated in the tournament and registration is open until 1:15pm this afternoon, so there’s still lots of time for more players to join.

Play will continue today for 14 levels of 30 minutes each. At the end of the 14 levels, everyone who remains will have qualified for Day 2 and will bag their chips to return on Wednesday evening at 7:00pm.

The Fall Classic kicks off – as usual – with The Wild $150, a $135 + $15 NL Hold’em Re-entry event with 4 Day 1s and a massive $100,000 prize pool. There are two starting flights today – Day 1a starts now, and Day 1b will get underway at 7:00pm tonight. The following two starting flights will be on Monday and Tuesday – they both start at 7:00pm.

The dealers have wrapped up their pre-tournament meeting and the players in today’s starting flight have just be admitted to the Tournament Hall to take their seats for the beginning of the flight.
