The seniors’ end on a triple all-in, Bob T is crowned Champion

2016/11/14 - 5:53 by Jôle Simard

After 9 hours of play, the seniors’ tournament’s final hand saw 3 players all-in. All 3 remaining players had money added to their ICM prize. Bob T orchestrated the whole deal, explaining to less experienced players the pros and cons of the different types of deals. He then went on to accumulate a lot of chips, first doubling against Shelley Rapp, then taking Salvador Villaluz out. He also picked up some very important blinds throughout late play. In the end, he was all-in with King of Diamonds Jack of Spades against Wayne Campbell’s Ace of Spades 10 of Diamonds and Gail Seagris’ 10 of Hearts 4 of Spades.

The board came Queen of Clubs Jack of Hearts Queen of Spades 6 of Hearts 5 of Hearts, and Bob’s flopped pair held to the end, allowing him to add $800.00 to his own ICM prize, and to take the coveted Champion’s Trophy for himself.

Gail Seagris had the least chips at the start of the last hand, so she takes 3rd place. Her total prize is $5,210.00. Wayne Campbell, who’s Ace of Spades 10 of Diamonds was ahead and had almost as many chips as Bob at the start of the hand, had to settle for 2nd place. He takes $3,570.00, counting his extra $420.00.

As for Bob T, he adds $800.00 to his previously secured $3,290.00, and goes home with $4,090.00.

Well done Bob, you can add this Trophy to your collection!

Runner-up: Wayne Campbell – $3,570.00

Seniors’ Champion: Bob T – $4,090.00 and the Champion’s Trophy

After Wayne Campbell doubled up on Gail, he raised all-in with Ace of Clubs 3 of Hearts. Shelley Rapp had to call from the small blind with her remaining 3 big blinds, holding Ace of Spades 5 of Spades. The board came: 2 of Clubs 3 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds 10 of Spades 2 of Spades. She was secured $3,200.00, and goes home with that amount.

The next hand, Bob T raised all-in with Ace of Diamonds 3 of Clubs, and was called by Salvador Villaluz, holding King of Clubs 9 of Spades. The board was 2 of Clubs Queen of Hearts Jack of Spades 4 of Spades 4 of Clubs. Villaluz cashes $3,590.00.

Our final 6 players are taking a short break, and chips have been accounted for. Gail Seagris has now half the chips, and the rest of our finalists have between 2 and 7 big blinds, so play is expected to go fast once it’s resumed.

We missed the action, but Rees Ray Scruggs left in 8th place. He cashes $930.00 for his efforts.

Then André Bilodeau, who was card dead and saw his stack being blinded out since the formation of the final, had to make a mathematical call from the big blind when Bob T raised all-in from the cut-off. Bob was left with 1 big blind not too long ago, but went on a streak of double-ups and blind purchases. That’s when he raised Bilodeau’s big blind.

Bob T: Ace of Clubs 8 of Diamonds
André Bilodeau: 8 of Spades 5 of Hearts

The board came Queen of Hearts 9 of Spades 7 of Spades 4 of Diamonds 10 of Clubs, and Bilodeau was sent to the rail. He collects $1,230.00 for his nice run.

Congratulations both!

Gail just took out Kamal Sadaka in 10th place. She opened to 80K, and saw Sadaka 3bet her to 275K. She went allin right away, and after some deliberation, Sadaka called.

Gail Seagris: King of Spades King of Hearts
Kamal Sadaka: Queen of Hearts Queen of Spades

Gail was in a great spot to earn a million chips, and she did. The board came Jack of Hearts 4 of Spades 7 of Clubs 7 of Spades 9 of Clubs, and Sadaka was sent home, taking $525.00 with him.

The hand after, Shelley took out Jacques Blais. Blais had only 1 blind left, and invested it with Ace of Spades 7 of Clubs. Shelley isolated him from the button with King of Hearts Queen of Spades. They went to the board: 2 of Spades 10 of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds 10 of Clubs 9 of Diamonds. Shelley chips up, and Jacques Blais takes 9th, for $700.00.

Congratulations to both casualties!

With only 18 players left, this Event is moving rapidly towards the final table, where the sweet money lies. Gail Seagris is still leading the pack, and by a mile. She is very active and plays her hands with confidence and aggression, which seems to work in that field. Her 523K look pretty good. Second in chips is Shelley Rapp, with 363K. And to round up our actual podium, Danielle Dussault, with 255K.

As the 3 top stacks are owned by ladies, we bring you this special podium-style leaderboard:
