Registration has just closed in The Second Chance, and a total of 135 players have turned up for this $1,500 + $150 NL Hold’em 2-day event. Running alongside the $10,000 High-Roller and Day 4 of the WPT Montreal, this 14th Event of the Playground Poker Fall Classic features a number of local and international pros.

Through 6 levels of play, we’ve only seen a handful of eliminations, and no player has really taken off with the chip lead just yet. The biggest stack in the room belongs to Nimer Ltaif, who sits on nearly 75K. Other top stack include Lucas Soucek (66K), Garry Lucci (64K), Alex Fortin Demers (63K) and George Kazarian (62K).

In a few minutes we will publish a first round of photos from the field, as well as all the prize pool and payout information.

Players interested in the Second Chance event should know that registration in the event is available until the end of level 6 – in other words, you can join the event any time until 3:00pm today. There is a maximum published capacity of 140 players in the event, and 49 players are already seated despite the very early (for poker players) 10:00am starting time this morning.

An interesting piece of trivia about this event – Benny Chen won it not once but twice in the past. He won’t repeat today, however – he has a solid stack going to Day 4 of the WPT Montreal!

The Second Chance event starts now

2016/11/16 - 10:00 by

In just minutes, the $1,500 + $150 NL Hold’em Second Chance event – Event 14 in the Playground Poker Fall Classic presented by partypoker.net – will get underway in the Tournament Hall. This is an opportunity for everyone who played in the WPT Montreal to take another shot at a relatively high-buy-in tournament.

The Second Chance event is a little different than a WPT, however, in that it’s a pure freezeout event. There is a single Day 1 – today – and players have to have their wits about them from right from the start of the tourney!

Players will start with 25K in chips and blind levels throughout the tournament will be 45 minutes long (or at least until the final 2 players are heads-up – then blinds levels will increase every 30 minutes). This is a 2 Day event and play will continue today for 15 levels.

Players have until the end of level 6 to register in the event, and as usual we expect a good number of players to take the opportunity to late reg.

Good luck!
