Event 3 of the Playground Poker Fall Classic is onto its last starting flight, with Day 1f minutes away from lift off. Through 5 starting flights, The $250 Frenzy has already seen 1,011 combined entries, breaking the $200,000 guaranteed for the event with still one more flight to go.

As per usual, the late registration period will remain open through until the end of the first break, giving players until 8:15pm to jump into the action. The current entries for Day 1f are already up to 150 as we approach departure, and we can expect tonight’s flight to be amongst the biggest, as it is the last chance for players to make their seat for Day 2.

Don’t miss your chance to take home a piece of this massive prize pool, come down to Playground Poker Club and grab a seat at the tables! Drinks are on the house.

See you on the felts!

Play in Day 1e has moved through to level 12, which means that there are less than 3 levels of play left before the players that remain will be invited to bag their chips for a return on Day 2.

There are several players that have built up stacks of over 100K – but as more than one player in this tournament has already proven, by the end of level 14 anyone can be on top!

The players in Event 3 have just taken their second break of the day and we took the opportunity to update the overall leaderboard while tournament staff were removing the green T25 chips from play. Play has now resumed in level 9 with 130 players still alive in the flight.

The first break has come and gone in today’s 5th starting flight in The $250 Frenzy, and the final number of entries in this flight grew to 248 total, adding up to a whopping 1,011 total entries so far! This has pushed the prize pool well past the $200K mark – when the dust settles, there should be some truly impressive prizes in this event!

During the break we surveyed the room for the early chip leaders and found 4 players who had cracked the 50K mark – but with several more following closely behind. Here are the four players who currently have more than 50K in tournament chips.

Registration has grown to well over 200 players in The $250 Frenzy this morning as players seem to be taking advantage of the fact that there are just two more opportunities (including today) to qualify for Day 2 in this event. The number of entries required to meet the guarantee has already been surpassed, and every extra player who joins is simply growing the final prize pool to what is sure to be a very “interesting” number!

Here are a few photos of the field in the early going today.

Play in The $250 Frenzy has been completed through just 25 minutes of level 1 but already there are 181 entrants, making this the largest of the daytime starting flights with another 100 minutes of late registration available.

A few notable players have taken their seats in the past few minutes, including George Kazarian, Jessie Wheatley, Brian Bond, and Linda Huard – each of these players has made a deep run in this format or a similar format of event in the past here at Playground Poker Club.

Two more chances in The $250 Frenzy

2016/11/06 - 9:55 by

In just minutes, cards will be in the air in Day 1e of Event 3 in the Playground Poker Fall Classic presented by partypoker.net. There have been 763 so far in the event, and today’s daytime flight is already shaping up to be a big one – with a lineup at the cashier of players registering, there are already 72 players entered – and counting.

Players have until the end of the break following level 4 to enter today’s 5th of 6 starting flights, which means that the numbers will grow until 12:15 today. Tonight’s final starting flight starts at 6:00pm, which will be your last chance to qualify for Day 2 in this fantastic tournament.

Good luck to everyone playing today!

Malik Lefty hogs the driver seat

Malik Lefty, our 2nd break chip leader, has not loosened his grip one bit. He was our chip leader at the second break, with about 40% more chips than his closest rival, and while his stack dropped a little bit shortly after, it was only to better leap forward. He is still leading the pack, with about 50K more than Sivasuthan Balasingam. Getting the lead is one thing, keeping it for so long is something else. Will he bag the lead? There is a full table of players who will try to prevent that, but only time will tell.

Below are listed the top 8 stacks at the time of the 3rd and last break:
