Only 2 tables are left in the $500 + $50 Freeze, and players are well into the money. They are now looking to make the final table, where the brisk prizes await. A short break and the chipping up of the T500 allowed us to bring you the complete counts of the 17 players that are left. You will see that some of them have a lot of work on their plate, while others are just cruising. Note that Faisal Khan, who once had more chips than any of the players currently sitting, is no more.

Players had been playing hand-for-hand for some time, and quite a few short stacks were getting antsy, standing up, glancing over at other tables, hoping to get an easy transport into the money. In the end, 2 players got to share the tail of the payout table, which is not a bad outcome.

Izhak Aliasi Sini’s Jack of Spades Jack of Hearts fell to Ace of Diamonds King of Diamonds when the river brought an ace, while Lawrence Rabie’s Ace of Spades 9 of Hearts was losing to King of Spades 10 of Diamonds’s flopped 2 pairs.

They each got half of the 32nd prize, $425 each. Action has obviously picked since then, players with limited chips being a little looser, and we already lost a few more.

Congratulations to all money earners!

e7-4486Players are now on break in Event 7, the $500 + $50 Freeze, and the tournament staff is in the process of reducing the tables from 10-handed to 9-handed. One more elimination to go before all 4 tables left are playing 9-handed. Faisal Khan still has the lead, even though he just took a hit, doubling Eli Israel and making him second in chip. Yes, that’s how big a stranglehold he had on his table, playing on about 600K before the loss he suffered brought him down to 436K. For a look at that stack, see the picture on the right.

Here are the top 6 stacks going into level 17, all resting on only 2 of the 4 remaining tables:
