Martin Raus returned from the break with a stack of only 125K. With the blinds up at 20K/40K/a5K, he knew he had to make a move sooner than later if he wanted any chance at pulling through. On the first hand of level 26, he picked up a monster – Ace of Spades King of Diamonds. Mike Sexton opened the hand to 100K from middle position, and Robert Earl McGhee came along for the ride from the button. Martin then 3bet all-in, and the two players called.

The board ran 8 of Hearts 2 of Diamonds 2 of Hearts Queen of Hearts 6 of Hearts, and Mike fired 125K on the river to bring the hand down to heads-up. He tabled Ace of Hearts 9 of Clubs for the nut-flush, ending Martin’s run in 15th place.

Martin collected $26,810 for his deep run in this WPT Montreal.
