After 8 levels of play, Sébastien Leboeuf managed to build his 50K initial stack to 228,000 chips. He is comfortably sitting on top of this break’s leaderboard, with a bunch of other players in the 150K vicinity.

The field has just dropped to 5 tables, and is playing in a relatively quiet room, now that all the WPT Montreal Day 2 players have bagged their chips.

Here is our actual top 12, featuring every 6-figure stack:

8 players will get paid tonight, and a cool $11,000 is reserved for the winner, who will also take the Champion’s Trophy home, and enjoy some bragging rights.

The High Roller wraps up for the day

2017/11/13 - 22:56 by Jôle Simard

14 players have bagged their chips at the end of Day 1 of the High Roller Event. This, however, does not mean that only 14 players will start Day 2, because registration remains open until the first Day 2 hand is dealt.

Jamie Sequeira joined the Event about 30 minutes before the end, after busting in the money in the WPT Montreal. He only played a few orbits, but he had time to catch up to the 185K average. He busted Hamidreza Kamali, who then came back to his spot, the last player to re-enter the Event. The money went in on a 9 of Spades Queen of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds flop.

Sequeira: Queen of Spades Jack of Clubs
Kamali: Jack of Diamonds 10 of Spades

Martin Raus had a last minute boost, and because Alex Difelice did the opposite, Raus bagged the lead. They are both over 300K, very healthy going into tomorrow where blinds start at 2K/4K/4K.

Day 2 starts at 1pm tomorrow afternoon, with a full player re-seating. Here are some recent photos of the 14 players that bagged chips:

Martin Raus
Alex Difelice
Ajay Gnanasambantham
Darren Elias
Samuel Greenwood
Jonathan Duhamel
Jamie Sequeira
Bryn Kenney
David Ormsby
Lawrence Greenberg
Doug Hartwick
William Foxen
Lucas Greenwood

Alex Difelice is on a break away

  • Level: 9

Day 1 of the High Roller is entering the last level of the day, and Alex Difelice (pictured below) has done very well for himself in the last 2 levels. He is sitting on a little over 400K.

Ajay Gnanasambanthan is not too far behind, leading his own table with about 310K. Some of those chips must have come from Darren Elias, whose stack has dwindled down to about 220K.

On the third table, Samuel Greenwood leads with 250K. In the last hour and a half, 2 more re-entries took place, made by John Krpan and Lawrence Greenberg.

Justin Hung takes the early lead

  • Level: 5
  • Small Blind: 200
  • Big Blind: 400
  • Button Ante: 0
  • Chip Average: 57.5K
  • Remaining: 40
  • Entries: 46

After 4 levels of play, PLO players are taking a short break. The end of the break will not close the registration period, as 2 more levels en entries and re-entries are ahead of us.

Justin Hung did very well for himself, accumulating 151K through 2 hours of play. He is leading the field at this point. Prize pool information and payouts will be published as soon as the window closes.
