Players are now back from break and entering level 5. Registration is therefore closed, and the tally for Day 1B is at 185 players. Added to this afternoon’s 240, we now have 415 entries in the ”Strangers in the Night” Event, the opening tournament of the Playground Poker Fall Classic.

Matthew Pascarella had an unbelievable first lap, and ran it up to 109,500 chips, which is 5 and a half times the starting stack. He stands alone in the 6-digit area, but there are 10 more levels to play tonight, during which many contenders will be pushing hard to catch up.

Here is the current leaderboard, dominated by Pascarella:

Strangers in the Night Day 1B

2017/10/29 - 19:01 by Jôle Simard

The opening day of the Fall Classic is all about the ”Strangers in the Night” Event, which is now a landmark in the Playground Poker Club tournament series. ”Strangers in the Night” is a charitable group, and the entirety of the $25 vigorish will go to that organisation.

Day 1A is wrapping up right now, and attracted 240 players. Day 1B starts in a minute, and should also see a good number of players come together to play for a $100,000 guarantee, while contributing to a great cause.

Players start with 20,000 chips and will play 14 levels of 30 minutes before the survivors bag their chips onto Day 2, which will take place on Wednesday night. Registration will remain open until about 9:15pm, and tonight’s flight should go until about 2:45am.

Come join the fun!
