Trevor Adams takes down The Crazy $80

2017/11/03 - 18:20 by Playground Poker

The Crazy $80 was a new addition to the line-up in the Playground Poker Fall Classic, and featured a lower range buy-in with multiple flights played during the weekday afternoons. A total of 364 entries took place over 4 starting flight, generating a prize pool of $24,715.00 that was divided into 39 payouts.

Day 1s were played out until the top 10% of the field was reached, meaning that all Day 2 players were guaranteed a payout. Action took off with a fury and before long the tournament reached the 10-handed final table. After a few orbits of play, a hug pot developed between Trevor Adams and Gerald Fehr which spelled Gerald’s elimination, and propelled Trevor into the dominating chip-lead.

Trevor never really looked back after this hand, and maintained the top spot on the leaderboard until the very end of the tournament. Domenico Gallipoli put in his share of work to get to heads-up play, eliminating Gary Biggar in 5th and Scott Aylward in 4th place before starting his duel with Trevor, who eliminated Jean-Pascal Gauthier in 3rd.

Heads-up went on for the better part of a level, before Domenico limp-shoved from the small blind for roughly 20 big blinds and found a call. Domenico tabled 2 of Hearts 2 of Diamonds and was poised to double-up versus the Queen of Clubs 7 of Clubs of Trevor, until a Trevor caught a good river card on the 9 of Hearts King of Spades 10 of Hearts 5 of Clubs 7 of Diamonds to claim victory in The Crazy $80.

Congratulations!

The Crazy $80 champion: Trevor Adams – $5,375.00

Runner-up: Domenico Gallipoli – $3,500.00

Scott Aylward was short-stacked and looking to make a move, unfortunately for him he 3-bet shoved his last few blinds at the wrong time, as Domenico Gallipoli, the original raiser in the hand, was holding the mother of all premiums and made the call.

Scott: 8 of Diamonds 6 of Hearts
Domenico: Ace of Hearts Ace of Clubs

Scott found a pair on the flop of a 3 of Hearts 8 of Spades 2 of Hearts 10 of Spades 2 of Clubs board, but it wasn’t enough to keep him in the game. He was eliminated in 4th place, collecting $2,000 in the process.

Biggar exits in 5th

2017/11/03 - 17:05 by Playground Poker

Fresh from a double-up with Ace of Spades Ace of Diamonds over the Queen of Diamonds Jack of Clubs of Jean-Pascal Gauthier, Domenico Gallipoli threw in a raise to 125,000 from the cutoff and found a call from Gary Biggar in the big blind.

Gary check-shoved on the 8 of Clubs Ace of Spades 2 of Clubs flop, and Domenico obliged as both players connected with the board.

Gary tabled two-pairs with Ace of Diamonds 2 of Diamonds, while Domenico was holding the top pair and nut flush draw with Ace of Clubs 9 of Clubs The Queen of Diamonds turn brought no change in the hand, however the 9 of Hearts river gave Domenico the bigger two-pairs, sending Gary to the rail in 5th place for $1,550.
