Tough luck for Douglas James

  • Level: 29
  • Small Blind: 40K
  • Big Blind: 80K
  • Button Ante: 80K
  • Chip Average: 2.8M
  • Remaining: 8
  • Entries: 1105

2017/11/07 - 21:34 by Jôle Simard

When Amirpasha shoved all-in for about 1.1M from the under-the-gun position, Douglas James, sitting on his immediate left, went all-in himself, counting a little bit less than a million in his own stack. When everybody had folded, they went to the board together.

Amirpasha Emami: King of Hearts King of Spades
Douglas James: 9 of Hearts 9 of Spades

Board: 6 of Hearts 7 of Clubs Ace of Hearts 2 of Clubs 8 of Diamonds

Douglas James left in good spirits. His 9th place is good for a cool $3,650. From now on, pay jumps will be quite sizable. There will be a break in 15 minutes, which will allow us to bring you an inside look on the finalists’ counts.

Good job Douglas!

Sean Burstein leaves in 10th

  • Level: 29
  • Small Blind: 40K
  • Big Blind: 80K
  • Button Ante: 80K
  • Chip Average: 2.5M
  • Remaining: 9
  • Entries: 1105

2017/11/07 - 21:01 by Jôle Simard

A few hands after the formation of the final table, Sean Burstein was dealt Ace of Clubs King of Diamonds. With only a few hundred thousands left, he was pretty much forced to roll the dice against Anthony Payette’s 9 of Diamonds 9 of Clubs. The 6 of Hearts 5 of Diamonds Jack of Spades 8 of Diamonds 2 of Diamonds board sent Burstein away.

He is our first final table casualty, but cashes $2,700 for his deep play.

Congratulations!

Sean Burstein

Tony Lei busts in 2 acts

  • Level: 29
  • Small Blind: 40K
  • Big Blind: 80K
  • Button Ante: 80K
  • Chip Average: 2.2M
  • Remaining: 10
  • Entries: 1105

2017/11/07 - 20:46 by Jôle Simard

Tony Lei doubled Amirpasha Emami when the latter hit a king to beat Lei’s 6 of Spades 6 of Clubs. That hand cost him about half his stack. 2 hands later, he went back to work with 8 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds, but Walter Asatoorian’ Ace of Clubs Queen of Diamonds found what he was looking for at the last second when the 7 of Clubs 2 of Spades 2 of Diamonds 4 of Clubs Queen of Spades board was revealed.

Tony Lei busts in 11th, and our 10 finalists are now merging onto the $250 Frenzy final table. Players will take a break after this new level.

Below is the final table seating chart. Anthony Payette and Ruben Perceval are in control, with over 5 million each.

Steven Tripp and Éric Guindon call it a night

  • Level: 28
  • Small Blind: 30K
  • Big Blind: 60K
  • Button Ante: 60K
  • Chip Average: 2M
  • Remaining: 11
  • Entries: 1105

2017/11/07 - 20:26 by Jôle Simard

Steven Tripp could not catch a break in the first hour of the $250 Frenzy Day 3. He started healthy, but failed to find a decent spot. As a result, he was getting pretty short stacked, and his Ace of Hearts 10 of Diamonds fell to Mounzer Awada’s 8 of Spades 8 of Hearts. Awada found a set on the turn, burying Tripp. Tripp finishes 13th.

Moments after, it was Éric Gindon who was forced to leave the arena. He invested all with 6 of Hearts 6 of Clubs, but they were no match for Anthony Payette’s Jack of Hearts Jack of Diamonds, who is now sitting on a monstrous stack. Guindon takes 12th, and leaves with $2,700 for his run. Great job!

Meanwhile, Ruben Perceval keep on taking small pots, and his own stack is swelling rapidly.

Marie-Josée Duguay meets kings

  • Level: 28
  • Small Blind: 30K
  • Big Blind: 60K
  • Button Ante: 60K
  • Chip Average: 1.7M
  • Remaining: 13
  • Entries: 1105

2017/11/07 - 20:13 by Jôle Simard

Marie-Josée, who had done a pretty good job at building a decent stack, pushed her stack with 7 of Spades 7 of Diamonds, but met Tony Lei’s King of Spades King of Clubs, and could not find a 7 on the board. She was left with crums, and lost them on the following hand. She leaves in 14th place, good for $2,100. Well done!

Anthony Payette extends his lead

  • Level: 28
  • Small Blind: 30K
  • Big Blind: 60K
  • Button Ante: 60K
  • Chip Average: 1.6M
  • Remaining: 14
  • Entries: 1105

2017/11/07 - 20:04 by Jôle Simard

Anthony Payette, who started the day with the most chips, had been somewhat quit so far in Day 3, but after performing the last 2 knock outs, has increased his count to over 4 million chips.

Jonathan G fell in 17th place and Sasan Mehrabian left in 16th. Play went on for a few minutes without any casualties, until Marie-Josée Duguay took out Zohrain Ladha in 15th.

Ladha cashed $2,100 for his performance, and that is the locked in amount for our remaining 14 players. Congratulations!
