Vince Van Patten has just uttered the immortal poker command to “Shuffle up and Deal” in Day 1C of the WPT Montreal. With that, cards started flying on tables throughout the tournament hall – there are already 180 players seated with more arriving every minute.

The WPT party took off as soon as Day 1B ended. No more than 10 minutes after the bagging of the chips, our poker stars were at the Rail Coal Fire Bistro, having fun with some of our customers. Here are some photos taken a few minutes ago:
The Secondary Bad Beat Jackpot hit a little earlier this evening – this time in the high-stakes Malibu Room! This is the second time the jackpot has hit during the Playground Poker Fall Classic – and with all of the traffic that we get during special events, Jackpot time seems to correlate very well with Festival schedules here.
The prize for the Secondary BBJ is a fixed $25,000, with 50% going to the loser of the hand, 25% to the winner of the hand, and the final 25% shared among the rest of the players at that table.

We’re used to seeing a lot of the big poker pros at least twice if not 4 or 5 times a year by now, but it’s always fun and gratifying to note the reaction of someone new to Playground. Like pro player Asher Conniff:

The WPT Montreal has traditionally managed to get a lot of satellite qualifiers into the event, and this year’s event is no exception. Satellite day – the day before the WPT – awarded a total of 51 seats, and there were another 2 satellites today for an additional 26 seats.
Sit N Gos have also been heating up. The formula is simple – 10 players at $400 + $40 play for a $4,000 prize in Playground Tournament Dollars. There have been 9 Sit N Gos so far – and certainly many more to come tomorrow.
There are another 2 satellite tournaments as well tomorrow – so even if you haven’t won your seat yet, there’s still time!
