The final 5 players strike a deal!

The final 5 players strike a deal!

Following Sean Dave Mc Nally’s elimination in 6th place, the final 5 players of the $100K Gtd decided to pause the clock and look at the numbers for a deal.

After some deliberation, an offer was proposed that seemed to please all the parties. Given that Ruben had the dominant chip lead at the time, and the other 4 players were all within a similar range in chips, Ruben took home $21,000, while the others collected between $11,638 and $12,500.

Congratulations!

Here are the final payout:

Mc Nally’s elimination brings us down to 5

Sean Dave Mc Nally lost quite a few chips due to the blinds in recent levels, and in his last hand of play, he limped from early position, and then went all-in for 10BB after Ruben placed a raise next to act. Ruben made the quick call, and cards were tabled.

Ruben: Ace of Spades King of Hearts
Sean: King of Diamonds Queen of Clubs

There was hope for Sean as he flopped a gutshot along with his live card, however the Jack of Hearts 9 of Spades 6 of Diamonds 7 of Spades King of Clubs board ran in favour of the big slick, and Sean was sent to the cage to collect his cash prize.

6th place: Sean Dave Mc Nally – $4,000.00

Sean David Mc Nally has been very patient tonight, only getting himself involved in pots where he knows he has a good chance of winning. His stack took many hits from the blinds in the process, as he slowly dropped the leaderboard. He finally picked up a few decent hands, and ran his stack back up to the 10 big blind range.

Faced with an open to 250,000 from Daniel Le, Sean came over the top from late position with an all-in worth 1,220,000. Daniel took a moment before making the call, and found himself up against the nut-hand preflop.

Daniel: 8 of Clubs 8 of Diamonds
Sean: Ace of Clubs Ace of Spades

Sean held on for the win on the Jack of Clubs 6 of Hearts 2 of Clubs 5 of Clubs 6 of Diamonds board, propelling him close but slightly below the average stack.

    Michailidis can’t run it up

Said Michailidis was in an uphill battle during the last few orbits on this final table, and kept finding himself on the losing end of every pot he invested in.

His stack chipped down to under 5 big blinds when he open-shoved from under the gun. He found a call from Ruben in late position, and was once again in some trouble, as his Queen of Diamonds Jack of Hearts was dominated by the Ace of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds of Ruben. Both players connected with the 10 of Clubs Jack of Clubs 10 of Hearts Ace of Clubs 6 of Hearts board, however Ruben got the best of it.

    7th place: Said Michailidis – $3,000.00

    Paquet unlucky with pockets

Jean Paquet was just cleaned out in back-to-back hands on this final table of the $100K Gtd, as he found himself on the losing end of a flip in two occasions.

On the first hand, he lost with 5 of Spades 5 of Clubs versus the King of Clubs Queen of Spades of Sean, and with only 8 big blinds behind, he moved in the next hand following an open from Daniel Le. He tabled 8 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds this time, and was faced with the Ace of Hearts 9 of Diamonds of Daniel, who spiked enough on the 6 of Clubs Ace of Spades 7 of Clubs 10 of Clubs 2 of Spades board to bring this event down to 7 players.

    8th place: Jean Paquet – $2,200.00

Jean Paquet has either changed gears following the break, or was finally dealt a few playable hands, as he saw the black “all-in” card land a few times in front of him in the last couple of hands.

The first two shoves were uncalled, however on the third hand he pulled the trigger from the button following a middle position limp, and found an all-in for less from Sean David Mc Nally in the small blind.

Jean: 5 of Clubs 5 of Spades
Sean: King of Clubs Queen of Spades

Board: 4 of Clubs Queen of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds 3 of Hearts 4 of Spades

Sean found just enough on the flop to double his short 470,000 stack up, leaving Jean with only 800,000 behind.

There has been a lot of chip movement in the most recent level, as Ruben saw his stack slide down the leaderboard before regaining a spot back up near the top. Said Michailidis gave up the tournament chip lead after chipping down in a series of hands, however he knows his way around the short stack and is still a viable threat on this final table.

Sean and Jean are playing a more cautious game, and have been quite passive since the start of the night, while Philippe and Nicolas are getting by quietly, raking in the occasional pot here and there to keep them up with the average.

Daniel Le is the current chip leader, and has been a very active player, involving himself in a more than average amount of hands, however Ruben is only inches behind. Here is a look at the full counts as play enters level 31:

    Francois Bernier runs into aces

Francois Bernier has been quite passive tonight, waiting patiently for his spot. With around a million to his name, he was faced with an early-position open from Daniel Le when he looked down at Jack of Spades Jack of Diamonds. He announced all-in, however saw he was in trouble as Daniel made the quick call and tabled Ace of Spades Ace of Clubs.

The board brought no help to the man at risk, showing 5 of Diamonds 3 of Spades 2 of Diamonds 2 of Hearts 5 of Spades, and Francois was sent home in 9th place.

    9th place: Francois Bernier – $1,500.00

Daniel Le and Ruben Perceval have been the two most active players so far on this final table of the $100K Gtd. Ruben claimed the first big pot between the two opponents, however in their second big confrontation, it was Daniel who came out on top.

Daniel opened to 210,000 from the hijack position, and called the 3bet of 510,000 by Ruben in the small blind. On a board showing 2 of Clubs King of Spades 10 of Spades, Ruben fired 375,000, but eventually folded when Daniel replied with an all-in worth 1,135,000.
