The players who completed all 14 levels of Day 1c are now bagging up their chips, which will be returned to play upon the Day 2 restart tomorrow at 1pm. The most recent number on the tournament clock suggests there are 38 players remaining after play today, and we’ll confirm that officially shortly when we publish today’s final results.

Day 1d – the 4th of 4 starting flights in the $100K GTD tournament in the TonyBet Power Weekend – gets underway in about 15 minutes. As usual, the final flight should be the busiest, and there’s speculation that participation could grow as high as 300 entries – or perhaps even surpass that number.

Late registration is available until 9:10pm, so there’s lots of time yet to make your way to Playground Poker Club and take a shot at the huge prize pool!

So far none of the leaders has the gaudy end-of-Day-1 size stack as we’ve seen during the first two flights, but there are 5 players with solid >100K stacks and at least 4 or 5 players just behind them in the 90K to 100K range.

    The players in today’s Day 1c flight have returned to the tables after their first break of the day – which means that late registration has closed with a total of 178 entries in today’s starting flight in the $100K Gtd event in the TonyBet Power Weekend.

    Two players have accumulated huge stacks to get things started today. Rick Shamshoum (68K) and Remy Poulin (75K) both have well over 3x their starting stack of 20K and are the front-runners in the action today. We’ll follow their progress to see if the trend continues for these players.

    Today is the 3rd of 4 starting flights in the TonyBet Power Weekend $100K Guaranteed tournament! So far there have been 373 entries and 64 players have qualified for Day 2 on Saturday. Today’s Day 1c and tonight’s Day 1d will be the final two opportunities to qualify to move on in the tournament.

    So far 96 players have taken their seats, but as usual for a daytime tournament players will continue to join in throughout the late registration period. There are 4 levels (plus the break following level 4) to register, so with 30 minute levels being played, that gives players until 1:10pm today to jump in.

    $100K Gtd Day 1b – final counts

    There were 196 entries in Day 1b of the $100K Guarantee tournament in the TonyBet Power Weekend, and after 14 levels of play, 32 players remained. These players have all qualified for Day 2 of the tournament, scheduled to begin at 1pm on Saturday March 12th.

    Any player who entered today’s starting flight in the tournament may re-enter in a subsequent starting flight – this is a “next day re-entry” event, meaning that players may enter each of the 4 starting flights once. If a player happens to qualify for Day 2 through 2 separate starting flights, only their best Day 1 result will count.

    Note that these are player-recorded chip count totals. The actual chips have been sealed in bags which will be opened by the players to be returned to play on Day 2.

    Play has reached the last break of the night here in Day 1b of the $100K Guarantee, and 57 players are still in the running and trying to lock in a spot for Day 2. Three more 30-minutes levels remain before time runs out in this second of four flights, after which remaining players will bag their chips onto Day 2.

    In recent levels, Dario Musto stepped on the gas and took over the chip lead in this Day 1b, and his impressive 265,900 stack nearly doubles any other player in the field.

    As a reminder, two more flights remain to this event, both held on Friday, with Day 1c starting at 11am, and Day 1d at 7pm. Day 2 will begin on Saturday at 1pm.
