The half-way mark of tonight’s Day 1b has just been passed, and players will soon be taking a short chip-up break. During this time we will bring an update on the leaderboard, however it seems that for now Walter Asatoorian is the man to catch, as he has built an impressive 125,000+ stack after 7 levels of play.

The registration period for Day 1b of the $100K Guarantee has just come to a close, and this second of four flights attracted a total of 196 players, brining our grand total up to 373 after 2 flights.
Jonathan Poulin has had an impressive start to his tournament, as he has managed to turn his 20K starting stack into just over 75K, putting him far and ahead of the field. The rest of the players fall more than 20K behind him at the moment, but the night is still young…

The TonyBet Power Weekend continues tonight with day 1b of the $100K Guaranteed, and level 1 has kicked off moments ago. So far 78 players have taken their seats, and late registration will remain open until the end of the first break, or roughly 9:10pm.
Day 1a attracted 177 runners, of which 32 bagged some chips for Day 2. Two more flights are scheduled for tomorrow, with Day 1c starting at 11am and Day 1d at 7pm. As this event follows a “next day re-entry” formula, players can register for multiple starting flights, however in the event that a player qualifies for Day 2 more than once, only their largest stack will be kept in play.
Cards are now in the air, but players still have a little over two hours to come down to Playground Poker Club and join in the action.

Tonight’s action in the TonyBet Power Weekend will feature the 2nd of 4 starting flights in the $100K Guarantee tournament. Last night the first 32 players qualified for Day 2 of the 177 that entered the day, and tonight should be even stronger. With a $100,000 Guaranteed prize pool, the event is 100% certain to have some monster payouts for the players that make it to the end!
Action gets underway at 7:00pm and late registration is open until 9:15. Even if you played yesterday (or intend to play tomorrow), this flight is open to you. As a next-day re-entry tournament, everyone may join any of the 3 remaining starting flights to try and make it through to Day 2.

There were 177 entries in Day 1a of the $100K Guarantee tournament in the TonyBet Power Weekend, and after 14 levels of play, 32 players remained. These players have all qualified for Day 2 of the tournament, scheduled to begin at 1pm on Saturday March 12th.
Any player who entered today’s starting flight in the tournament may re-enter in a subsequent starting flight – this is a “next day re-entry” event, meaning that players enter each of the 4 starting flights once. If a player happens to qualify for Day 2 through 2 separate starting flights, only their best Day 1 result will count.
Note that these are player-recorded chip count totals. The actual chips have been sealed in bags which will be opened by the players to be returned to play on Day 2.

Here are a few photos taken during level 10 of the action in Day 1a. As the final break of the day approaches, players are planning their approach to the end of the day – will they be conservative and preserve the chips accumulated so far, or will aggression be in store? Only time will tell.

Of note is that the early chip leader, Daniel Forfana, is still among the leaders – which is itself an accomplishment!
There’s about an hour left before the players’ next break, so we’ve taken the time to get a few more photos of the field – these were taken during level 7. So far eliminations in this starting flight have been pretty constant – things will likely heat up as the end draws near.
Play has just begun in level 5 and already there is a leader with over 4 times the chip average of the overall field. Daniel Fornara is playing just a little under 100,000 chips!
