There’s about an hour left before the players’ next break, so we’ve taken the time to get a few more photos of the field – these were taken during level 7. So far eliminations in this starting flight have been pretty constant – things will likely heat up as the end draws near.
Play has just begun in level 5 and already there is a leader with over 4 times the chip average of the overall field. Daniel Fornara is playing just a little under 100,000 chips!
Late registration has closed, and the official count for Day 1a is 177 entries. With 3 Day 1s left to come, the tournament is off to a great start!
Action is underway in Day 1a and late registration is open until the end of the first break, so in addition to the 154 players that have already taken their seats, more will certainly be added. Come and try for a piece of the pie!
Since we introduced the Power Weekend it has quickly become a players’ favourite. With just a few events of the span of an extended weekend, the mini-festivals have become a great way for players to try out new forms of poker – and to play in some big events!
Big events like the $100 Guarantee NL Hold’em Re-entry tournament starting tonight! This tournament follows the exact same format as our “Wild” events during the Spring and Fall Classic – there are 4 Day 1 starting flights and the same huge $100,000 guarantee! One of the things we’re very proud of at Playground Poker Club is our ability to provide players with a Big Event Experience for a small buy-in – and at just $150 per entry, this event definitely qualifies!
Tonight’s Day 1a starting flight will play through 14 30-minute levels today, and everyone who finishes the evening with chips will have qualified for Day 2 on Saturday. And if you can’t make it through the night – then you’re welcome to play in any (or all) of the following starting flights – Thursday evening at 7:00pm, Friday at 11:00am, or Friday at 7:00pm.
