    A huge pot just developed on table 70, resulting in a new chip leader.

    We caught up to the action on the flop in a three-way pot between Chan An Luong, Mikael Guenard and Eric Aucoin. With the board showing Ace of Spades Queen of Spades 8 of Diamonds, Chan An fired a bet of 185,000 into a pot which already had a few hundred thousand in it. Mikael 3bet all-in from the cutoff for 517,000, and Eric then 4bet all-in for around twice that amount from the button. Chan An went into the tank for a minute, before folding what he later said was Ax 8x.

    Mikael and Eric were then asked to table their hands, and Mikael saw he was in big trouble with only King of Spades King of Hearts, as his opponent flop a set with Queen of Clubs Queen of Hearts. The running 4 of Hearts and 8 of Clubs brought no change, eliminating Mikael in the process.

    With that pot, Eric climbed to around 2,600,000, and took over the chip lead here in Day 3 of the Main Event in the Montréal Poker Expo. Moments later he scooped another big pot off of Chan An, bringing him up to around 3,200,000.

    Only 19 remain, and with one more elimination we will have another full seating redraw.

    Event 11 in the Montréal Poker Expo is a $100 + $10 NL Hold’em 8-Max tournament that began at 7:30pm on August 31st. There were 226 players in the tournament, which brought the prize pool up to $21,922. The prizes will be distributed according to the following table.

    Note there was a player deal at 4 players remaining. The players chose to reserve $442 and the Champion’s Trophy for the winner and distribute the balance according to the players’ holdings at the time.

    We didn’t see how exactly it happened, but early chipleader Sivasuthan Balasingam has recently regain his spot atop the leaderboard, as he has grown his stack upwards of 300,000. Matthew Paplyk has not slowed down his progression either though, as he just barely tails in second place with around 300,000 himself. Felix Sides has recently acquired a bunch of new chips as well, and he now ranges around 200,000.
