The final event of the Montréal Poker Expo has come to a close and the winner was Charan Malhotra! Charan managed to outlast 203 other players for the victory after 10 gruelling hours of poker action.

After 10 hours of poker, the final two players are now heads up in Event 14 of the Montréal Poker Expo. Charan Malhotra is taking on Sander Jonathan Straus. After the player deal that was made, there is just $580 and the Champion’s Trophy at stake – but as has been the case throughout the Expo, those stakes are high enough to bring about a tough heads up battle.

Event 14 is the wrap-up event of the Montréal Poker Expo, as is the last chance for players to get their hands on one of the beautiful Champion’s Trophies! This tournament is also the only one of the series which is open to staff members, and so you might find a few familiar faces amongst the field.
A total of 204 players have shown up for this last event, and are currently battling it out across numerous tables here in the Playground Poker Club Tournament Hall. Only 1 will remain at the end of it all, but who will it be?

Tonight is Event 14 in the Montréal Poker Expo, which is a $90 + $10 + $25 NL Hold’em Bounty tournament. A bounty tournament is the traditional closing event in any festival hosted by Playground Poker Club, and the Montréal Poker Expo is no exception.
The best thing about a bounty tournament is the immediate gratification you get when you eliminate another player – not only are you that much closer to making the money in the tourney, but you get an instant $25 in the form of that player’s bounty chip.
Judging by the strong participation numbers throughout the festival, Event 14 should attract a very healthy field, so the traditional prize pool should be excellent as well – really, in a bounty tournament there are two ways to win!

Event 14 was a $90 + $10 + $25 NL Hold’emm Bounty tournament in the Montréal Poker Expo. It started at 7:30pm on September 2nd. There were 204 players in the event, which added up to a traditional prize pool of $17,810.00. Each player also carried a $25 bounty chip that was given to the player that eliminated them from the tournament – these additional prizes were not tracked.
Note there was a player deal made at 5 players remaining. They chose to reserve $580 and the champion’s trophy for the winner and divide the rest of the prize pool according using amounts the players negotiated based on chip stack size at the time of the deal. The actual payouts are reflected in the results table, below.
