Main Event Day 1b final chip counts

Play has concluded in Day 1b of the Main Event of the Montréal Poker Expo. The tournament is a $1,000 + $100 NL Hold’em event with next-day re-entry and one more Day 1 following today’s starting flight.

Day 1b of the event attracted 200 entries, and at the end of the 13 levels of play today, there were 51 players who had survived to qualify for Day 2, to be held on Monday August 31st at 12pm.

Day 1c starts on Sunday at 11am. Any player who played in Day 1a or 1b may re-enter in Day 1c.

The following are player-reported chip counts and have not been verified by tournament staff. All chips have been sealed in bags and will remain so until play resumes on Day 2.

    The second flight of the Main Even of the Montréal Poker Expo is now complete, and 51 players have survived through the day and locked in a spot for Day 2. Combined with yesterdays 33 players, 84 have already made their seat for Day 2.

    Leading the field tonight is Cong Son Dao, who after a huge last level, bagged 319,000 in chips. This still trails yesterday’s chip leader Leandre St-Laurent, but only by a few thousand. Other big stacks of the night include Poorya Nazari (301,300), Jared Newcombe (261,900), Louis Boutin (236,000), Giovanni Massa (234,300), Marcello Miceli (221,800), Chan An Luong (218,600), Miltiadis Mavrigiannakis (196,400), Mike Leah (193,400), amongst others. We will be publishing the full list of player-reported chip counts in a few minutes.

Ami has also had a lot of success in poker, and he spent the last year touring the international poker circuit extensively, playing in more events than he ever has before.
