Event 1 of the Montréal Poker Expo was also known as the Strike Out Cancer event. The buy-in was $135 + $25, with the $25 being a charitable donation and the entire $135 of the buy-in going to the prize pool. The prize pool had a $100,000 guarantee.

The event, which featured 4 Day 1s, attracted a total of 1,186 entries which produced a total prize pool of $155,307.00. This will be distributed according to the following table.

The combined attendance after 4 flights is of a whopping 1,186! The tournament staff is crunching the numbers for the prize pool as well as prize distribution, and will release it shortly.

After three action packed flights, where we saw a combined total of 889 entries, only one chance remains for players to try and qualify for Day 2 of the kickoff event of the Montréal Poker Expo. This $135 + $25 Strike Out Cancer Charity Event has already surpassed its $100,000 guarantee, and we can only expect it to grow with this fourth and final flight.

Cards are in the air at 7:30pm sharp, however players will have until roughly 9:40pm to register, as the registration period will remain open through until the end of the first break.

Players who have made their seats for Day 2 will return tomorrow, Sunday August 23rd, at 12:00pm.

Event 1 Day 1c – final chip counts

There were 311 entries in today’s Day 1c of the Strike Out Cancer Charity Event, part of the Montréal Poker Expo. Added to the 578 entries from Days 1a and 1b, that means that there are a total of 889 total entries in the tournament. The final starting flight is set to begin at 7:30pm tonight.

Of these 311 entries, 74 players qualified for Day 2, which will begin at 12pm on Sunday, August 23rd.

Note that any player who played any of the starting flights so far, whether they qualified or not, may play in one tonight’s final starting flight. In the event that a player qualifies through two or more Day 1s, only their largest stack will move forward to Day 2. We will provide detailed records of any such activity when the official seating draw for Day 2 is released on Saturday night.

Note that these are unverified player-counted chip counts. All chips have been sealed in bags until they return to play on Day 2.
