The action at the end of the tournament moved super quickly as even the “large” stacks in the e event had under 10 BB. In the end, Erick-Yanick was eliminated by massive chip leader Nicolas Aubut, whose pocket tens held up.

Joey Boczek has been eliminated in 4th place.

He was moving along quite comfortably, having found double-ups when needed and stealing the blinds and antes regularly to the point that he was vying for the chip lead with 4 players left.

On the hand in question, Nicolas Aubut raised from UTG and Joey shoved from the BB. Nicolas called and Joey learned that he was dominated.

It took two hands to finish him off, but Mickael Trottier has been eliminated in 6th place. The beginning of the end was Mickael’s UTG raise to 42K, which was met with an immediate shove by Joey “Birdman” Boczek. Michael thought for a split second and made the call.

The board didn’t have an Ace and only one diamond: and Mickael was crippled to less than a big blind remaining – with the big blind to play immediately.

The following hand, with Mickael all-in with his big blind, Nicolas Aubut flat called to force the issue but then Shawn Dubeau shoved over the top and Nicolas went away. The cards were flipped.

Nicolas Aubut has eliminated Philippe Plouffe and Rong Xu in a single hand. We missed the details of the hand but it seems that Rong open shoved his and Nicolas went all-in over (way over) with . Philippe came along for the ride holding a suited 9-10 (not sure which suit). When the dust settled, Rong and Philippe were both at the tournament desk picking up their payout slips.

Nicolas, on the other hand, is now playing with over 600K in his stack.

Melissa had been among the large stacks for much of the afternoon, but at the final table she had lost to the point that she was playing under 4bb (the big blind was 12K at the time of the hand). On her final hand, she shoved 43K and it folded around to Rong Xu who wasn’t necessarily happy about it but felt he had to make the call.

As is common in small-buy-in tournaments, the players at the end have decided to make a slight adjustment to the prize pool. They agreed to take $100 off the first place prize and $80 off the second place prize and give those amounts to the 9th and 10th place player. These adjustments will be reflected in the final Results & Payouts table to be published after the event.

This makes a difference in the tournament in that there is no longer a bubble to contend with – everyone at the table is already in the money. And with that deal, the short-stacked player was almost immediately eliminated.
