Terry Nother leads the field

After winning a huge pot to eliminate former chip leader Armry Senat, Terry Nother has leaped ahead of the pack deep in Event 1, and currently holds the chip lead with roughly 4.7M in front of him. Second in chips is Andrew Sarazin, who is still hovering around the 3 million mark.

Counterfeit river brings a new chip leader

We just witnessed a huge pot that has created our new chip leader.

Andrew Sarazin defended his big blind after Steve Lawrence had opened the action preflop. On a flop of Ace of Clubs Queen of Clubs 2 of Spades, Andrew lead out for 200K, and was quickly called by Steve. On the 9 of Hearts turn, Andrew fired another 300k holding a 1.26M stack, but was then faced will an all-in from Steve, who had the bigger stack. After a moment, Andrew announced the call, but found his Ace of Hearts King of Clubs trailing the two pair of Steve, who was holding Ace of Diamonds 9 of Clubs. The river was the Queen of Spades, which counterfeit Steve’s 2 pairs, and Andrew Sarazin has now breached the 3 million chip mark, making him our current chip leader!

Final level of play

We are now in the final level of play for Day 1b of Event 1, and the players remaining at the completion of this level will bag and tag their chips onto Day 2. There are still two more flights in this event, with Day 1c and Day 1d set for tomorrow, at 11:00am and 7:30pm respectively. With a total of 665 entries so far, we can expect to see this number to nearly double tomorrow, creating one impressive prizepool for a tournament of this buy-in!
