Day 1c of the Playground Poker Montreal Festival Main Event has just finished, and with that the Day 1 of this Event has come to a conclusion. Full player reported stacks from all three starting flights, as well as the seating assignment for Day 2 will be published shortly. Players that qualified onto Day 2 will begin play at 12:00pm tomorrow, September 1st.

Thanh-Phong Bui went into the dinner break with 100. Not 100K – 100. A single black chip. The price of a single ante. Not much to work with…

Now, just 30 minutes into the first level after dinner, Thanh-Phong is up to over 72K, and making an impression on the entire room as he grows his stack. Such an impression, unfortunately for him, that he is now serving a 10-minute penalty for cheering his success too vigourously!

While on his unscheduled break his table broke – will he be able to reclaim the magic at his new table? We’ll be following this story to find out…

Players in Day 1c of the Main Event are now on a 45-minute break as they enjoy a meal from the free buffet and take some time to charge their batteries after 9 full levels of poker so far today.

With the end of the break following level 6 came the end of the final late registration period in the Main Event of the Playground Poker Montreal Festival. The total number of entries today is 540, which adds up to 1,063 entries overall in the event. Prize pool and payout information is being prepared now and will be made available as soon as possible.

During the break we surveyed the Tournament Hall for the chip leaders at this point in the flight, and found that there is already a massive chip leader and quite a few other players with strong stacks but following the leader from a distance.
