Event 13 was a $50 + $10 No Limit Hold’em Big Ante tournament held as part of the Playground Poker Montreal Festival on September 2, 2014. There were 116 entries that contributed to a prize pool of $5,626, which was distributed as per this table.

It was a very short heads-up between Nicolas Couture and Eric Pelletier, as they were both dealt an ace on one of the first hands and wagered all their chips preflop.

Although Eric started ahead, that changed rather fast as the dealer brought out the board, which read , giving Nicolas aces-up.

With that pot, Nicolas managed to gather all the chips in play to declare himself the tournament champion! He earned $1,416 for his win, as well as a Playground Poker Montreal Festival bracelet.

After an open from Eric Pelletier on the button, Dominic Dufour moved all-in for his las 100K, and was followed by an all-in from Nicolas Couture. Eric tanked for a moment, and eventually let the two battle it out heads-up.

Nicolas turned a set on the board to knock Dominic out, and go heads-up with Eric.
