The final tableists strike a deal!

2017/07/08 - 3:25 by Playground Poker

The $200 + $20 Freeze was one of the four events features in the July Playground Power Weekend, and this 1-day event attracted a total of 216 runners creating a prize pool of $41,904. The top 22 were awarded a cash prize, with a massive $9,260 reserved for the winner.

When play reached the final table of 10, players asked to pause the clock to look at the ICM numbers. When the floor returned with the numbers, all ten players agreed and a deal was made! Below are the numbers for each player.

Congratulations!

During hand-for-hand play, two short-stacks were virtually all-in in the blinds. Luke Geoffrey Rathbone was down to just 12K when the big blind came around to him, forcing him to be all-in. Daniel Johnston limped into the hand from late position, and Jose Pereira moved all-in for 21K total from the small blind, a call that was easy to make for Daniel who already had 16K in the pot.

Daniel: Jack of Clubs 10 of Spades
Jose: 9 of Spades 6 of Spades
Luke: Ace of Clubs 10 of Hearts

Jose smashed the flop and held for the triple up on a 3 of Spades 2 of Spades 9 of Hearts 3 of Clubs 4 of Clubs board to keep his seat in the game and secure a cash prize, all the while sending Luke home on the bubble.

Congratulations to the 22 players who have made the money!

Action has been moving very fast for the past 2 levels, likely due to the increasing pressure of the blinds. With level 18 (8K/16K/2K) about to begin, the average stack sits at only 10bb, leaving little room for the short stacks to manoeuvre.

In a few minutes we should be entering hand-for-hand play, as only 4 eliminations separate us from bursting the money bubble.
