Play in today’s Day 1A of the $550 Deepstack is through the first half of level 2 and attendance figures continue to slowly rise. There are 38 players seated at the moment, and with another 2.5 hours of late registration still available, the field should fill out reasonably well. That being said, the first of multiple starting flights is traditionally the smallest, and today’s Day 1A is no exception to this tendency.

Today is the first of three starting days in the marquee event in the July Power Weekend – the $500 + $50 NL Hold’em Deepstack event. This event has an amazing $200,000 guarantee, so no matter what the attendance is like, the prize pool is sure to be fantastic.

Play is just 5 minutes from beginning today and there are 6 levels of late registration available in the tournament, so there’s plenty of time to jump in the action. Play will continue through 14 30-minute levels today, following which everyone remaining in the action will bag up their chips to return on Day 2 this Sunday. There are two more starting flights in the event – both on Saturday, at 11:00am and 7:00pm.

So far there are only 7 entries – so today’s flight is looking like perhaps the best way to play your way through to Day 2.
