The July Playground Power Weekend kicked off today with a $200 + $20 NL Hold’em Mix Max event, which attracted a field of 111 players. After playing through 10-handed, 8-handed and 6-handed poker, the final stages of the event were played out on 4-handed tables until only 5 remained, who formed the final table.
After a few orbits of play on the final table, some chop talk began between the finalists, and they agreed to take a look at the ICM numbers to see if a deal can be reached. Michael Korovine was the chip-leader at the time, holding almost double any other player, while the other 4 players were all virtually even-stacked, within 1 big blind separating 2nd place from 5th place.
When the tournament staff returned with the ICM numbers, all 5 parties agreed and the deal was sealed, bringing an end to the tournament. The final agreed-upon numbers are listed below.
Next up on the schedule is Day 1A of the $500 + $50 Deepstack event, which features a massive $200,000 guarantee and 3 starting flights. Day 1A takes place tomorrow at 11am, while Days 1B and 1C are on Saturday, at 11am and 7pm respectively. All surviving players will be reunited under one roof on Sunday at 1pm for Day 2, with the conclusion of the event taking place on Monday at 7pm.
