Kristopher Chaykowski was the first player to double up, having eliminated Alexandre Beaudette quite early in round 2. However, he was very active in the following orbits, and had to fold a few hands after some investment.

In the one, he limped in from the cutoff position, and Alexandre Mongrain raised to 17K from the big blind. Mongrain kept firing: 21K on the flop, then 33K on the turn. The river was checked by both.

Board: 2 of Spades 7 of Hearts 6 of Clubs 3 of Spades 2 of Clubs

Mongrain showed the following hand: 8 of Clubs 7 of Clubs. Good enough! Chaykowski, from a 300K stack, is now forced to work with 75K.

Charles-Éric Benoit was next to go after David St-Louis crushed him on the river:

Benoit: Ace of Hearts Queen of Spades
    St-Louis: 3 of Spades 3 of Diamonds

Board: 3 of Clubs Queen of Clubs Ace of Spades 9 of Hearts 2 of Spades

Ouch. We missed the action, but it is pretty safe to assume that the hand was played pre-flop. Patrick Cartier was also eliminated on the other table, bringing the field to 14. He took the first pay jump and left with $260.
