Today’s tournament at 12:00pm is the final daytime tournament in this edition of the Power Weekend, and it should be a good one! The tournament is a time-honoured format here at Playground Poker Club – a $50 + $10 NL Hold’em Rebuy tournament. This was one of the first formats on the regular daily tournament schedule when we opened in 2010, and although Re-entry tournaments are now more common than the Rebuy format, there’s something to be said for a tournament in which a player who is eliminated doesn’t just start as if he or she were a new entry, but continues at the same table with a new stack.
There are unlimited Rebuys allowed in the tournament during the late registration period, which continues until the beginning of level 7. That means that players have from 12:00pm until 2:15pm to enter the tournament and to rebuy if needed. Players can rebuy any time their stack dwindles to less than 5,000 tournament chips.
