When the field dropped to 24 players, the 5th table broke, and play was halted to give time to the movers. Players were then scattered on 4 tables of 6 and playing hand for hand, waiting for 1 bust to make the money.
Patrick St-Onge, just before the table break, managed to double his rather short stack with after shoving all-in and getting called by Sébastien Proulx’s on the big blind. You can see St-Onge’s incomprehension in the photo below. St-Onge is still nagging Proulx about the call, in a friendly way of course.
During hand-for-hand play, François Tarrab folded both his blinds and paid the button ante, keeping 1.5K in the hope that another table produces a bust. His wish was granted! Nick Frascarelli and Jonathan Bussières got it in on a neighbouring table.
