David Bolduc has just been eliminated from the Playground 200 in fifteenth place.

With the blinds at 25K/50K, the action folded to Bolduc on the button. He raised all in with Ace of Clubs Queen of Spades, only to run into Steve Horic‘s Ace of Spades Ace of Diamonds in the big blind. The board, 9 of Clubs Jack of Clubs King of Spades 6 of Spades Jack of Spades, provided Bolduc a slim hope on the flop but ultimately gave Horic the win.

Bolduc will take home $1,640 for the deep run.

    Jeanneau-Cyr makes his exit

Dave Jeanneau-Cyr was the next player to leave the Playground 200 after losing the classic tournament flip.

With the blinds at 20K/40K, Jeanneau-Cyr opened the action to 90K from under the gun. The action folded around to Dominic Boucher, on the button, who raised all in. The blinds quickly folded so hands could be tabled. It was Queen of Hearts Queen of Spades for Jeanneau-Cyr and Ace of Clubs King of Diamonds for Boucher. The board, 10 of Diamonds King of Spades 7 of Clubs 5 of Diamonds 10 of Hearts, gave Boucher the win and reduced Jeanneau-Cyr’s stack to only a handful of blinds. He put the rest of the chips in on the next hand but came up short and made his way to collect his $1,360 payout for the seventeenth place finish.

    Mckinnon out in 18th

    • Level: 26
    • Small Blind: 20K
    • Big Blind: 40K
    • Button Ante: 40K
    • Chip Average: 1.03M
    • Remaining: 17

It looked like a dream spot for Michael Mckinnon, but the poker gods had other plans.

Sitting on the button with a relatively short 415K stack, Mckinnon woke up with pocket aces. The pre-flop action folded around to his neighbour, Jean-Francois Bruens, who moved all in for 410K with Ace of Hearts 10 of Hearts. Mckinnon pushed his stack forward, watched the blinds get out of the way and happily tabled his hand. But when the monotone heart flop appeared, Mckinnon’s dream spot turned into a nightmare. There was no runner-runner full house to save him, his stack was reduced to a single chip, and he was eliminated on the next hand. He will collect $1,360 for the deep run.

The players at the final three tables in the Playground 200 are focused and concentrated on the task at hand. There is little to no conversation to be heard around the tables, the players are letting their chips do the talking.

Here is a photo gallery from the start of Day 3:

The July Power Weekend edition of the Playground 200 was another great success, as we have come to expect from this event. Throughout the Day 1s, 698 players took a shot at this tournament and only 21 remain. The great turnout built a prize pool that easily surpassed the guarantee, and the players all have their sights set on the big money that will be awarded tonight.

The finalists are making their way into the tournament hall, ready to battle it out for the $24,792 first place prize. As the players tear open their bags and sort their stacks, seven players in the field have over a million in chips, led by Co Tran with 1,470,000. But with lots of strong players in the field, that lead is far from safe.

The action is about to start. Good luck to all!
