The players are off on their second break of the evening, as Nader Ammar holds a commanding chip lead over the field. The chip leader at the first break, Jonatan Goyette, still hold nearly double the chip average, but he is still a distant second to Ammar.

Immediately following the first break, players were hitting the rail one after the other, but the rate of bustouts slowed significantly in the lead up to the second break. Now that the prospect of the final table becomes more and more enticing, expect every decision to be carefully considered.

Here are the current chip leaders:

As the clock winds down on level 11, 21 players are still in the running in the Omaha Bounty Re-entry. The current chip average provides more than 30 big blinds, leaving plenty of options for even the shorter stacks in the field. While we saw some hectic action during the earlier levels, the tables have taken on a more conservative tone as pot control become more of a priority than bounty hunting.

Here’s a look at some of the players left in the field:

    No signs of slowing down

In many re-entry tournaments, the action tightens up once players can no longer re-enter, but if you add some bounty chips and four cards into the mix then, it seems, the action only gets looser. And that is the case in tonight’s event, as the field has dropped down to only 27 players out of 71 entries. The bounty chips are up for grabs, and the big stacks are finding ways to pocket them and send one player after another to the rail.

At some stage, the prize money should begin to exert its influence over the field and reduce the appeal of the bounty chips. Or maybe not. Either way, here’s what they are playing for:

    Rank | PosPrize | Bourse
    1$4,751
    2$2,710
    3$1,660
    4$1,190
    5$920
    6$710
    7$610
    8$540
    9$470

As the re-entry period was drawing to a close on the PL Omaha Bounty Re-entry, the action picked up to a frenetic pace. The short stacks were looking to run up their chip counts, and the big stacks were looking to capture some of those $100 bounty chips; a recipe to make some big pots, that’s for sure.

A case in point was when Nader Ammar made pre-flop pot raise from his button after one limper as the timer ticked down in the lead up to the first break. His neighbour came over the top and moved all in, and the initial limper followed suit, tossing his own bounty chip in the middle. Ammar quickly joined them, creating a massive three-way all in situation. Ammar’s Ace of Clubs Queen of Clubs King of Diamonds 8 of Spades was up against Ace of Spades Ace of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds 9 of Hearts and Ace of Hearts Queen of Clubs Jack of Hearts 10 of Hearts, and when Jack of Spades 10 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds appeared on the flop he took a lead that he would not relinquish thanks to the dry run out. Ammar captured two bounties along with the huge pot to now sit among the chip leaders.

Goyette leads at the first break

    • Level: 7
    • Small Blind: 500
    • Big Blind: 1K
    • Button Ante: 0

The late registration and re-entry period has just closed on the Omaha Bounty Re-entry. The action picked up to a frantic pace, as several bounty chips changed hands as the late registration just before the break. The total number of entries crept up to 71, thanks to 18 re-entries. This strong turnout has built a prize pool that easily exceeds tonight’s guarantee.

There are several big stacks in play now, and two players, Jonatan Goyette and Dan Vidgerhous, are sitting comfortably with chip counts hovering around triple the current chip average. Everything can change quickly, but with the re-entry period now over, expect the players to tighten up as they set their sights on the prize money.

We have just entered our fifth level of play in the PL Omaha Bounty Re-entry with six tables running, and seven players have already re-entered.

The caution of the first two levels has been thrown to the wind, as we are hearing the word “pot” more and more often around the tables. The players have realized that with a little less than an hour to go in the re-entry period, now is the time to adopt a “boom or bust” strategy.

Here’s another look at the field from the early stages:
