Nizar T asked to pause the clock to look at chip chop numbers, and table 54 halted for a few seconds, until Jonathan Bussières realized it from the other table, and said: “What are you guys doing? No deal!” Play resumed with well informed players.

Bussières currently has the chip lead with about 800K, followed by Nicola Isaev and Nizar T with about 600K each.

Patrick St-Onge played the survival game for quite a while, and he was in the big blind with very few chips when Nicola Isaev shoved on him from the small blind. St-Onge made the call, simply hpoing to have 2 live cards. He had better, but luck came against him.

Isaev: 10 of Spades 4 of Diamonds
    St-Onge : 10 of Clubs 3 of Clubs

Isaev hit a 4 on the flop, and St-Onge walked away. On the following hand, a much bigger pot was disputed, as Hadi Ghattas, with nearly 200K, was facing Jonathan Bussi’res who covered him.

Ghattas: Ace of Diamonds King of Hearts
Bussières: 5 of Diamonds 5 of Clubs

Ghattas couldn’t hit a pair, and followed St-Onge to the tournament desk. John Palmer also busted on the other table, leaving just 9 players in the field.

    Congratulations to all 3!

Nine players are left, and prize money will increase with every position. It’s on!

Only 12 players are left in the 6-Max Bounty. They are playing on 2 tables and quickly approaching the big money. Everyone in the field is sure to add at least $750 to their collected bounties.

Almost a full level has passed since the bubble burst. Usually, the passing of the bubble causes fireworks on the remaining tables, but surprisingly play has been quite calm. Only 2 players busted, leaving 21 in the race. These 21 players took a break, which allowed us to update the top 5. Danny Ibrahim is on a huge tear, as you can see in the table below:

When the field dropped to 24 players, the 5th table broke, and play was halted to give time to the movers. Players were then scattered on 4 tables of 6 and playing hand for hand, waiting for 1 bust to make the money.

Patrick St-Onge, just before the table break, managed to double his rather short stack with 7 of Clubs 7 of Spades after shoving all-in and getting called by Sébastien Proulx’s King of Hearts 10 of Spades on the big blind. You can see St-Onge’s incomprehension in the photo below. St-Onge is still nagging Proulx about the call, in a friendly way of course.

During hand-for-hand play, François Tarrab folded both his blinds and paid the button ante, keeping 1.5K in the hope that another table produces a bust. His wish was granted! Nick Frascarelli and Jonathan Bussières got it in on a neighbouring table.

Frascarelli: Jack of Spades 10 of Diamonds
Bussières: Ace of Clubs 10 of Clubs

Board: 8 of Diamonds Ace of Spades King of Hearts 6 of Spades 4 of Spades

    Congratulations everyone!

When you hold King of Diamonds King of Clubs on the big blind, one of the best pre-flop scenarios you can hope for is that the button, who is more than likely to have a wide range, shoves on you. That is exactly what happened to Frédérick Laurin Fortin. Marc Coallier picked up 8 of Hearts 8 of Clubs and took a chance.

Board: 7 of Diamonds Jack of Spades King of Spades 5 of Clubs 5 of Hearts

One more bounty for Frédérick. We are closing in pretty fast on the prizes, and the tournament is now reduced to just 6 tables of increasingly hungry deep runners.
